What happened to flights last time BKK was closed by protesters?

I'm flying into BKK in 3 weeks and while I hope everything is fine, I was just wondering if anyone recalls what happened with incoming international flights last time BKK was shut down by protesters?

Specifically, were flights just canceled or were the rerouted elsewhere? What happened to those ticket holders (refunds? travel insurance? etc?). Was it possible to get an international flight rerouted into CNX or USM?

Cancelled.

Virtually all international flights were cancelled - I recall some airlines using Utapao.

I was delayed almost a week getting out and spent 3 nights in Bangkok at the expense of TAT.

Since then A law has been passed. If there are protestors at the airport they go off to jail. The airports are off limits.

Why would they worry about a law? They're breaking plenty of laws already.

No matter how many times one says it, the law makes no difference and it can happen again.
