"Some operating teams use different guidelines than are set down by our office. We are currently taking the time to reiterate to all of them that it is necessary to follow the standard procedures at customs. By setting their own guidelines these officers are acting illegally".

No receipt given, Thai Baht not accepted, and no discipline for the offending officers, instead the officers need reiteration of the law or in other words, need to learn their job.

excise of 1,000 baht a litre, strange, you can virtually buy it cheaper than that at the local 7/11 here, sounds more like a cash grab to me, isnt it just supposed to be the taxes etc, not the actual cost to buy a bottle in Thailand.
