US expresses strong support for Thailand after House dissolution

Would that be the same bastion of freedom for democracy who were happy to go along with the 2006 coup in private whilst condemning it in public and withdrawing aid.

Id link the details but its information directly taken from the wikileaks cable releases if youre interested in finding it for yourself.

Right, because Thailand doesn't want US investment, aid and military support.
Did you know that Americans are the ONLY foreign nation allowed to own property 100%? Thais love America
Face it, Thais want to be just like decadent Americans, YOU will never change that.

Not only the US but also the EU, Canada, Australia

Why is every major economic power supporting the democratic path, not to mention every credible news service. Mr Suthep might find fellow-travellers in North Korea and Liberia

Don't know what you have been eating or smoking, but it must be strong.

another post perfectly on topic: "US expresses strong support for Thailand after House dissolution"

was also wondering what "strong" the US "have been eating or smoking" to support criminals. is this the US culture?

didn't they "express strong support for" saddam hussein for many years? and for osama? watch out ying without luck!

Unfortunately, if this website is to be believed http://www.activistpost.com/2013/12/a-tale-of-two-protests-ukraine-and.html ( and I believe it to be pretty accurate), in the same way that Yingluck is the square faced fugitive's puppet on a string, Thaksin likewise is America's sock puppet, so America will be backing him as he will do what they want....Bad news for freedom !~ bah.gif

I'm sure many of "Americas Puppets" will remembers American support very well.

Thaksin sure remembers his "Puppet Masters" support in 2006 when the US essentially

approved the military coup that toppled Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

The Bush's administration at the time, knew well in advance of the coup preparations and

had given a nod of approval. The US public expressions of “concern” had already been

worked out in advance with the coup leaders.

The protesters should rally outside the US Embassy to tell them to mind their own business!

They already did rally in front to tell them to support their side biggrin.png

Why don't they mind their own business and let the Embassy concentrate on important stuff, like football games and watching reruns of breaking bad?!!

US expresses strong support for democracy in Thailand

Where did their democratic support for Vietnam end up?

If the "people's council" of China invaded tomorrow, the USA would be handcuffed, powerless & losers....again.

The Thread is about US support for Thailand.

Unfortunately this website deletes non offensive posts if those posts go against the mentality of: "Give us as much money as we want, and don't monitor how we spend it". I placed a post before stating that foreign industry and nations that invest in Thailand, or any other nation have a right to consider those investments as their business. However, the censors believed that was someway offensive, but the affirmative responses supporting this view were not. Perhaps this site needs to reevaluate its policy to accurately state what they find offensive.

Instead of a deserved apology, I am sure this post will also be deleted since saving face trumps responsible journalism.

Foreign countries fear political situation will exacerbate

BANGKOK, 11 December 2013 (NNT) – Several foreign countries fear that the current political conflict in Thailand will escalate, while voicing support for the general election.

Acting Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, who has recently been assigned by the Prime Minister to oversee the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO), revealed that the international community had expressed its concern over the political situation in Thailand, as several countries feared that the situation in Thailand would exacerbate, while urging the caretaker government to resort to peaceful means in settling differences with the protesters.

They also voiced their support for the upcoming general election under the democratic system. The international community also hoped that the election, which is scheduled for February 2nd next year, would go smoothly in order for Thailand to quickly restore peace and stability.

Among the countries making the statement were the USA, Germany, New Zealand, Canada, and China.

Well, since the US usually supports the bad guys, around the World, I am leaning more and more towards supporting the Democrats on this. ;-) An endorsement for Yingluck, from Obama, doesn't' mean much, in my eyes cheesy.gif

You seem to be as others on this thread reading something that is not there. The US statement is supporting Thailand and democracy not either group who is currently screwing it over. Edited by Roadman

The US authorities will have talked to the Thai government and also some other involved parties. There will be consequences if there is a coup.

The country will never move forward if they continually have cuops or try to overthrow the governments. They will end up 100 yrs behind the rest of the world.

It's their country and they know what's best for them. I pity them but what can we do.

So true. You would think it rocket science due to some's inability to see what should be clear and unambiguous. Funny thing is those that cannot differentiate fact from fiction with regard to US and other countries' positions are those supporting the current poetical unrest or coup efforts in Thailand. This is even worse than blind leading the blind because it also lacks intelligent thought, common sense and reason.

most posters on TV agree that there is much more corruption in thailand than 'democracy'

if the "US expresses strong support for Thailand" it is NOT for a thailand how it should be, but for the government how it really IS! so in fact

the US expresses nothing else but their "strong support" for corruption & the corrupt thai government & their dubious puppet-master in dubai

or does anyone here really believe that the US & their spying NSA does NOT know about all this?

please read THAT roadman, 'the evil is always & everywhere' & it is HERE in thailand right now, with strong support by the US

Who Just happen to have started joint special forces training with their Chinese counter parts! whistling.gif

And who also happen to have consistently done joint military trainings with the Thai army and navy for many years ... and still do. So what is your point?

Slowly the power is shifting from the west to the east!

Do you think the thai armed.forces would like to be in business with the USA or china?

Do you think the thai army appreciates the current govt sucking up to china?

Do you think that the USA has a lot of pull with a lot of senior army blokes?

Do you think ideologically the thai army is more american or more chinese in outlook?,,right or left Wing?

The USA still has huge pull in thailand and they will not have liked watching Washington cosying up to burma whilst yingluck has failed to get anything for her port.

If thailand loses influence with the USA army to Burma, Thailand will become a no body in the region.
