Minister Chalerm to protest if police do not arrest Suthep in 2 days

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Labour Minister Chalerm Yubamrung has threatened to stage a protest in front of the Metropolitan Police Bureau if the police do not arrest protest leader Suthep Thuagsuban in 48 hours.

The minister said on Wednesday that Mr Suthep, secretary-general of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee, has only one option – that is to turn himself in to the police to acknowledge the charges against him which include insurrection.

He pleaded with the protesters to return home and urged the Democrat party to contest the February 2 election “if they are confident of their support”. However, he said that the Pheu Thai party would definitely win the election.

The minister criticized some academics who voiced support for Suthep’s demand for the appointment of an interim prime minister and the creation of a people’s council to draw a national reform blueprint, branding them as being stupid or being cunning.

As for Thirayuth Boonmee, a Thammasat lecturer, who voiced support for people’s revolution to effect national reform, Chalerm said he had lost respect for the lecturer whom he used to be familiar with.

What about arresting Thaksin....Posted Image

Who?

Do really think just anybody can arrest him when he is not here.

Only a law enforcement officer in the country he is in could do that after an arrest warrant was issued by that country.

The dem government spent millions of baht chasing him. They begged numerous countries to arrest him and all said no. Even Interpol said no.

Did not know that there is free booze in front of the BiB's head office. Is it served by the little charming Yubamrung boys under the eagle eye of their mother, the juvenile judge co-incidentally ruling in their (in)nocent favour?
Guess the same office is in charge of checking the authenticy and legitimatecy on Thai passports submitted in Dubai and other places?
Well, then all is under control. Puzzling is only, that the Caretaker Labour Minister can step out of his rink; should he not rather protest in front of his own state agency? But then again, what do idiots like me know!

There's always the second option. He could take a holiday in Cambodia until daddy buys off, or intimidates to silence, the witnesses.

Of course he wouldn't be AWOL from the army, so unlikely to receive a promotion when he deigns/dares to come back.

I think you're on the wrong page here, buddy...

Chalerm, the poster boy for all that is wrong with this government and the country in general.

I agree one million percent. NOBODY more clearly points out the flaws in the patronage system

of government that the fact this bozo continues to hold an important job in it. On a side note,

shouldn't be concerned with labor issues, rather than mulling over starting counter protests ??

He is nothing more than an attack dog for the government . He has been quiet for the last couple

of weeks, with the possibility of a coup I think the government kept him muzzled for fear he would

make some wild inflammatory remark. Now things look a bit cooler, time to unleash the beast !!!!!

So his beheading is in 19 days. Who will do the job? Am sure there would be a long line of people

who would line up for the privilege of beheading him for the well being of the country. Sort of like

removing a cancerous growth. The government is short on money after the rice scam looting.

To raise money, perhaps they could hold a lottery to win the position of being the beheader.

That way Chalerm could at least do some good for the country........

Uhhhh, yeah. Crazy pills.
Is this guy retarded? That is just not how government officers are supposed to go about their business.

You don't have to know a lot about the issues to realize that a potentially-violent mob would immediately reach it's potential if police tried to walk into the center and arrest their leader.

Way to inject a little more chaos into the situation.

No different that the Democrat Party in the US. If you don't want to be the focal point, and have to answer uncomfortable questions, deflect attention to the other guys. It is pretty easy to get the press to change directions and forget the original reason for the issues. Politicians and their spinners at work.

Please provide links to the reports detailing where countries were formally requested to extradite Thaksin and refused.

Interpol do not have the power of arrest. Please provide links to reports showing where the Thai government had requested help from Interpol and Interpol had refused.

Look forward to seeing the links whistling.gif
