One guy, you know, managed to get 'you know, you know' into one sentence. Its very distracting and brings nothing to the plate. The scenery is stunning but not taking the cold into account with battery powered bikes shows a bit of naivety. To their credit though they took two basically prototype electric bikes and trucks on the journey (albeit with a diesel jenny truck in reserve at times). I will stick with it, possibly with the volume turned down, you know. Don't get me started on the use of the word 'like' ???? 3

rayinkrabi Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Great thread, just what I've been looking for...many thx to Beachbum. It's going to take a long time to read it all (I haven't got past the 1st 2 pages yet) so apologies if these have already been suggested: 'The Fall', a seriously good crime drama imo as a bit different from the rest. only 3 seasons, well worth watching. 'Hell on Wheels' & 'Deadwood', older western series (good writing & acting imo). Cheers, Ray. 1
beechbum Posted October 27, 2020 Author Posted October 27, 2020 "Roadkill", series 1 episodes 1 & 2 available for dl. Roadkill (TV mini-series 2020) 1
rayinkrabi Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Thanks Beachbum, Hugh Laurie is a top actor imo so I'll certainly watch this one. Btw, another v good tv series that is a bit different from the rest is 'Gentlemn Jack' (sorry if thats already listed but still havent gone through all the thread :-))
DILLIGAD Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Series 2of 'The Alienist' has started and available for DL. Good crime period drama set in 19th Century US of A.

Popular Post JetsetBkk Posted November 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 12, 2020 Are we allowed to mention Netflix? If so, "The Queen's Gambit" is brilliant. https://www.netflix.com/title/80234304 3

Somtamnication Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Just finished watching PATRIA. A Spanish 8 part series on a famous book about the agonies suffered by families supporting ETA and its victims. Very well written, the actors are out of this world. Has English subs. Trust me, even fluent in Spanish, I found it hard to understand Northern Spain Castillan.
Psimbo Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 I enjoyed the return of Spitting Image although it was never going to be as cutting as the original series due to the WOKE, PC, Snowflake, can't upset people world we live in these days. Puppets were great- from Boris' spinning hair to Trump's novel way of tweeting. Thai friends are amazed (and amused) at how the Windors can be portrayed. Netflix's Mosul is supposed to be good. Part way through The Hunters with Al Pacino. First episode was a bit iffy but its hitting its stride. 1

I like both US and UK versions, (I am a Brit) I find the SVU ones should now be renamed Law and Order The Benson Show and its gone down a lot but dont let that put you off. I found the UK was inferior and if you have watched the US versions the UK one has used the same stories just adapted for local laws etc. Edited December 5, 2020 by swbaggies

Actually, Law & Order: UK was a spinoff of the original American Law & Order franchise, not the other way around. The original American series debuted 30 years ago (in 1990) while the UK variant debuted in 2009. 1 2
