Skype click to call Mavericks pulled by Skype any ideas

Can I use click to call in another browser

I have Chrome and Mozilla but seldom use

Tried Opera almost as bad as IE here but any browser that runs click to call be good or will have to downgrade back to Mountain Lion

A fix is due but no timeframe according to this link.

If it'll work in Thailand by New Year I'm happy to wait but plan call 50 or so freinds and familuy over holidays so be really handy.

I'm not a geek but used to wriet code in the day so am happy to go inder the bonnet if there is awork around that wont crash my system as my nearest Apple support is very long way away
