Folks,

I'm up in Udon Thani around Nong Bua Lamphu from the 28th Dec until 1st Jan & I need a vehicle.

I've checked every car hire company listed in Udon Thani & had no joy at all as everyone is completely booked out.

Business must be healthy in the carhire game but can anyone point in the direction of someone who might rent to me?

I would prefer a 4x4 but really at this stage I'll settle for any decent vehicle.

Budget at the airport in Udorn out? Thought they could draw on BKK if needed.

This is the number one holiday for Thailand. Bangkok empty's out (except those that are protesting) and goes home. Your best bet is to rent in Bangkok and drive.

I already had flights booked which has limited my options.

We also have a couple of small children & it's hard on them to keep them couped up in a car for an 8-9hr drive each way especially when we're only going to be there for 3 whole days.

I'm still open to suggestions folks

Thai Visa car rental will do a one way hire at no extra charge (if at least 3 days hire) and will arrange a car with either Budget or Thai Car Hire. You'd still have to do the drive one way, but could perhaps make an overnight stop at somewhere like Phimai. I've done that a few times when travelling to the NE with family.

Land at Udon 31st evening & staying until the 5th Jan.

A small car will do fine as not going too far.
