I guess as usual there are too many foils to chose from, I understand that fixing one to the screen without bubbles can be challenging.

Any suggestions?

PS This 16 min Youtube clip on the subject makes me want to trash the thing immediately

There must be easier solutions, how about anti-glare glasses from google to be worn only when reading Nexus-es

Go to telephone shop and select a matte screen protector and have them fit it for you. will take less than 5 minutes and the cost will be <deleted> all.

Agreed: let the person at the shop/kiosk install the screen protector for you.

Not sure if Nexus 7 has the same variety of options that are available for an iPhone, but I use a "fingerprint resistant" screen protector for my iPhone 4 that actually does minimize the greasy smears compared to a "standard" screen protector.
