Climbing Rope

Featured Replies

I'm building a garden slide and swing for my daughter for Christmas and having a bit of trouble finding rope for the swing.

Looking for thick climbing rope..have tried Home Mart and a few other outlets without success.

Anyone know where I can buy in Chiang Rai.

No, I do not but I would suggest contacting Boomer, our self-proclaimed resident tree hugger and rock climber. Since I assume he uses ropes to climb, he should know where to buy them. No doubt they would be and ecologically friendly ropes as well.biggrin.png thumbsup.gif

Thanks. I spoke to the guy from Boomerang Rock Climbing and Adventure Park and he said not available in Chiang Rai.

He should know. Come to think of it, most of the swings I have seen locally use chains not rope.

Maybe Home Pro? but not sure. Wife thinks so.

Home Pro then work your way down the street that runs past the old bus station to the Super Highway, you cannot tell me that you can't buy a bit of rope here.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Enlisted the local builder to help and he has drawn a blank thus far.

The swings at my daughter's school are made from climbing rope (they were built several years ago and nobody sure where they got the rope) so thought I would go down that route but looking like will have to settle for chain link, although I think it is more dangerous,

Viz Helpful Hint #67:

1) Purchase two lengths of rope (each of equal length and 1/2 the diameter of desired finished rope).

2) Unlay both ropes then splice the parts into one rope

3) Enjoy...
