Political parties find ways to complete election registration

BANGKOK: -- 16 political parties agreed to have Election Commission draw the poll numbers.

Pheu Thai Party’s Somchai Wongsawat said that all the parties would later notify the EC of their decision in writing.

At today’s meeting, the parties supported the election on February 2, saying that this is the true return of power to the people, according to former prime minister Banharn Silapa-archa.

They also suggested the EC change the registration venue without telling them in advance, to avoid protesters’ siege.

Thai anti-government protesters on Wednesday stormed at the entrance to a sport gymnasium in an attempt to disrupt the election registration in Bangkok.

They were also there on Tuesday.

I'll bet the majority of Dems are now kicking themselves.

Oops, perhaps majority is the wrong word as far as the Dems are concerned.

Oh my, nothing but wishful thinking here. I doubt the EC is allowed to draw the numbers in camera, i.e. without public scrutiny. The EC might cheat, so they can't draw the poll numbers without publicity. And that those parties, that tried to register, want to take part in the election is a real surprise, ain't it true?

And finally to change the registration venue without telling anybody beforehand is simply illegal and would expose the EC to legal consequences. Which in turn would move the election further into the future. But as we all know Somchai Wongsawat is a champion of the legal system...

The outcome of the election will be more of the same. Only the army can prevent the shinaclan from more stealing.
