Hi,

Can´t make up my mind.

Are those additional futures worth it? (180000THB more plus the 50-80000 utt)

  • Duratorq TDCi 3.2L VG Turbo Intercooler
  • Rear Locking Differential
  • 18" alloy wheel with 265/60R18
  • 8-way power adjustment driver seat
  • Dual zone climate control
  • Electrochromatic rear view mirror
  • ESP with Traction Control System
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Rear view camera
  • Dual front airbags
  • Front side airbags and Side curtain airbags

What would be the aprox resale price in about 3 years for 2.2 against the 3.2?

In my opinion there is no other pickup out there that is comparable in look´s and futures, right?

Mazda BT50 is very much comparable (and IMO better looking).

Forget all the extra's.

Feel the 5-pot engine.

Effortless, powerfull, and more. much more.

Is it worth the extra money?

Yes.

Ask for a test drive, first with the 2,2 and then with the 3.2

And then decide.

The Mazda looks better?

Different tastes.

For the rest it is the same truck, buil on the same line, with the same engines.

Test drive all of them, Ford 2.2 & 3.2; Mazda 2.2 & 3.2.

In my view the 2.2 engine is tweeked to it's near maximum.

Is it working too hard?

Who knows, in the long run.

It would have been better if Ford had decided to put in the 2.4 engine.

It depend what you gonna use it for, if very heavy loaded (pineapples or boat trailer), I say 3.2.

I don't want 4wd and since most of our driving is around Pattaya with the odd holidays far away I decided for a 2.2WT and save some fuel. Well when I ordered mine in 2012, Ford would not even take orders on the 3.2 so no choice then.

My 2.2 also have dual front airbags.

8000 km so far and we are very happy with it.

I would like to try a 3.2 and see how much difference there are but then again it's still only a truck so I am not too concerned about it, mine was pulling strong over the hills on Koh Chang when on holidays over Christmas with lots of wheel spin, he-he.

I forgot to add: I paid 865K baht for my 2wd 4door 2.2WT, chill orange, not bad, I wonder what they cost now.

I wished I could test drive the 3.2....dealer will never have one to test....

The 3.2 is of course better truck all around and it is up to you,if you like to spend the extra money...for some it's a spare change,so why not wink.png

Hi, thanks for you feedback. I would missing the side airbag and the rear camera (especially with the picture in the mirror),

no heavy loads but lot of driving Rayong-Pattaya in the rush hour´s and some far trips Hua Hin, North, Isaan.

The 2.2 WT (no 4x4) is now 929000 (+ 20-50000 for quick delivery)

Actually it's not. There is quite some room for optimization. IIRC with remapping it's easy to get 65Nm more torque out of it +20kW, thus beating the 3.0 D-Max.

Just got WT 3.2 for a week after owning Colorado LTZ 2.8 top model ... Must say ford feel much better more solid but Chev has better heavy steering at high speed for easy drive.

I second MadMac on this one., in fact it's de-tuned. it has plenty of reserves left and with a standard chip it can reach 140 kW and 465Nm. It may feel strained due to it's heavy kerb weight (300 kg heavier than a Hilux)

Does the Thai 3.2 have the real locking differential? I thought the OZ version has it but the Thai version does not. Pics of the OZ version have a button for that, but I haven't seen it in the Thai version.
