Real-time traffic situation on Google Maps for Android updated

Featured Replies

There seems to be a server update from Google Thailand now displaying real-time traffic conditions in Pattaya area as well.. in fact it now stretches along the Eastern Seaboard nearly all the way to Trat.

So I was about to go to Foodland but I think i'll try another time ;)

In my experience, those traffic updates available on Google Maps for Thailand are worthless. In Bangkok, they are almost always inaccurate. I use other apps now that have improved accuracy. I have been sitting on the expressway at a complete stop looking at Google Maps with a green line going directly through my location more than once!!! I'm not impressed.

and if you would like to share the better apps that would help,

are they in English , Thai or both ?

thanks

I don't think it will help for Pattaya based people. However, I have had better luck with Longdo's BMA Live Traffic application. It is in both Thai and English. It isn't always perfect, but it has gotten me out of a jam once or twice!

Live traffic on Maps has improved quite bit since Google bought Waze and integrated it in Maps around August of last year. Crowd-sourced traffic information based on phone signal, mobile data and GPS triangulation is a pretty accurate way to determine if someone is on the move or not..

I've always never had a problem with my Google maps traffic, every time show red yes have traffic, every time show green, never traffic, never had a mixed problem, been using it for over a year now, I like it
