Khon Kaen - watch Champions league football?

hello,

I will be spending a week on khon kaen next month. I have never been before but my girlfriend's mother, who is from the area and will also be with us, has bought a house in central KK and we will be staying there.

As a regular at the Emirates Stadium i'm a hoping to watch the Arsenal v Bayern Munich champions league tie (Wed 19th Feb 19.45 UK time) . Obviously it's gonna be on very late over there so i was wondering if any bars are open to show these matches or if it is better to try and stream it?

Also if i need to stream it is it possible to buy 3G USB dongles in KK to stream the match on my laptop? There is no internet in the house unfortunately. Where would I buy one of these and which provider is best? It would need to be 'pay as you go' as the house will be empty quite a lot so does not need a yearly internet contract.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

An alternative might be to check into a hotel with the full True Visions (Gold or Platinum) package for the night. This is the provider with the UCL franchise.

I suspect that the Pullman Hotel in central KK has that package - it is unlikely that any hotels other than the top rated ones do. Perhaps someone local knows or can find out for you. Mr Red? Nev? (United supporters - I don't know of any fellow Gunners in KK).

I dont live in KK myself. Sorry - I'm not into streaming or dongles so can't help on that front either. You would be welcome to stay at my place 220k away in Sisaket province and I could recommend a good value hotel in Ubon Ratchatani city that does (Brent at 'Outside Inn' has it for all his US NFL-loving guests), but that is 200 kilometres away. I understand that your 'Thai family' would probably find your affliction for The Arsenal very strange if it came to any of these options. I would not find it strange at all. smile.png

You might also find that one of the Thai TV channels 3 or 7 will have this match on live on Cable TV.They normally promote it a few days before.

Failing that a night in the Pullman or Centara is a good idea.....watch the game in a bit of luxury !

There wont be any bars open in Khon Kaen at 2.45am,I'm afraid.
