Could someone post me in the direction to find any information on the occupancy rates for th island? Guesstimate? Are they're any figures published for this? Also the rough figures for people coming onto the island? Koh Samui was easy enough to find but I can't find anything on Koh Phangan.

It depends, around FMP is can be tough to find places especially in Ban Tai and Haad Rin...

It depends too, on what type of place you are looking for (might be good to specify)... but from my experience I never had a problem finding a place... even in high season... at least around the west and north west coasts... Lots to choose from!

Showing up around 10 or 11 am check out time, can work well... If place full, you can just walk down the beaches and find some thing... Most places will let you leave your luggage, while you do that...then head back to collect it when you found a place ...
