OP, don't listen to all the big spenders telling you you just weren't paying enough, they're just shopping in more expensive places.

However the reality is ho matter the size of the initial deal, unless you pony up a bit more and more as the "relationship" progresses, the girl's likely to move on.

They get bored, more experienced, talk to others doing better (or telling stories that they are), just the grass is greener syndrome.

Or as she gets to know you, she realizes you aren't quite as charming as she thought at first, familiarity breeds contempt, and of course putting up with that requires more money.
