Sandman77 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Is it nesarsary to close the iPhone for a while when it's getting very hot looking videos on 3G can it really burn up?
Gulfsailor Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 It will shut down by itself when it gets too hot. Happened to me a few times on an iPhone 4 when testing my ZeroShake app. The app uses most sensors and nearly all GPU and CPU all at the same time. iPhone 4 couldn't handle it and after about 10 minutes it got very hot and message appeared stating the device was too hot and was shutting down. Worked fine again after a little cool down period. I now block my app on iPhone 4 and earlier models to avoid any issues. I am pretty sure the temp safety is also in the newer devices, although I never seen it being activated on these.
