Has this topic been covered recently?

1. What would be the 2 or 3 best choices for a smartphone if one's budget was less than 3000Baht?

2. How do you buy one in Thailand without any local Telephone Provider software on the phone?

3. For example, I do not want to see ANY AIS or True garbage on my phone, which is designed to get me to pay more money to these companies. The phone is mine, and they don't pay me to use it and view their ads.

3b. if one is going to choose either AIS or True, then which phone is the best choice? From a frequency point of view?

4. And if this phone is often used to tether a laptop to the internet?

5. Maybe there are other considerations to evaluate.

I think that this year there were a few good choices from Google's Motorola, and from Samsung. But I really am not familiar with the Thailand market, nor with the local Telephone providers.

I thought it would be nice to be able to have 2 sim cards in the phone. And a camera in front and back.

But a good camera in the front is better than a poor camera in front AND back.

Any thoughts would be helpful because the phone I have now is dying, and it is not so easy to read all the fine print in Thai unless you are really either from Thailand, or very fluent. Even then, the different plans available are so confusing (intentionally) that no one in Thailand can probably make much sense of this market.

So....at least we can wonder which is the best hardware for 3000Baht or under.

Thank you.

All that for less than £60. You won't get much.

Yes, perhaps, but it seems that prices are falling fast. And is there not the new Google phone, I think it is the Mobo something, and then there is the new Samsung cheapy. I still don't know what to do about finding one without all that useless software designed to sell AIS or True products, and services I do not need. Who watches AIS TV on their phone, I don't know.

But I am trying to find out how to buy one of these phones in a way, in Thailand, that I can just have the Android OS and no other garbage.

Anyone know?

(I was actually thinking of buying something this week or very early next week)

(What about buying on Ebay in HK, and then having them ship to Thailand? I think this works for non electronic products, and with free shipping)

Not much decent stuff around at that price. Check Lazada.com. but I think 5k minimum.

Maybe better to go 2nd hand. I have an I-mobile Q6 for 2.800b if ya interested. It's running Jelly Bean. Good condition.

i-mobile 5.3 is particularly good value and well featured.

But 5K on special offer at Tesco (inc 8GB card).

tri-band, 12Mp camera, two sims, quad core, 3000mah battery.

Easily rooted to remove any apps you don't want.

Thank you, and that one would be a good choice for me if I want to up my budget, since my phone-camera resolution is really low.

I had also seen an Acer Z3 130, but had steered clear since it had the Tel Co software. Now though, I just found a place to obtain a unit with NO added proprietary software. If this is not an empty promise, then the ACER would provide a fairly good choice.

1. If the company will provide just the OS with no added Tel Co garbage sales software, then why don't more customers insist on this?

2, The problem with my original phone was that it had the Tel Co software, and it seemed some functionality was restricted.

If this can be remedied and tests OK, this would fix my problem.

But if I still have difficulties, then yes the phone you mention has 1GB RAM, and looks much better:

s operating system Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean supports 3G frequencies 850/900/2100 MHz (AIS / Dtac / True/3GX). CPU MTK6589M Speed 1.2GHz and Quad Core. 1GB RAM and ROM 4GB support additional microSD up to 8GB Screen Size 5 inch FWVGA resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. rear camera 12 megapixel with autofocus and flash. cameras front 5 megapixel connection WI-FI, HTML Browser, WI-FI Hotspot (Tethering), system GPS.Dimensions 147.5 x 74 x10.3 mm and weighs 135 grams. batteries 3000mAh see detailed specification information. , click here The i-mobile IQ 5.3 is available now for $ 5,790 baht for those who are looking for a smart phone app for Android that comes with a specification vigorously with the price. a cost not to exceed ten thousand i-mobile IQ 5.3 is another option that should not be overlooked that can be purchased i-mobile Shop stores and dealers nationwide.

Just to complete this inquiry on my part, I finally decided to purchase the ACER Z3s. THE WORST PART ABOUT this is that the phone must be connected to either TRUE or AIS, and both treat me not like garbage from a customer service point of view, but also not like a valued customer most of the time. Maybe some of you can empathize with this feeling.

Basically, this cheap phone, 2600Baht, does what I require, and it has a 5 mp camera. Nothing special, but for my purposes I can't justify paying more. (I would rather have a big Apple Ipad, and a cheapy phone, than an expensive phone.)

Also, while searching, I have noticed some phones selling on the internet which they call "wholesale" phones, and it appears that these have generic cases with samsung parts inside. The cost is approx 5000Baht to 8000Baht for a Note5, whatever that is. If these are internal components from expensive Samsung phones, then what is the possibility of buying in Thailand from someplace like CFGate, or another wholesaler.

Thank you.

(Of course, no one is saying that TRUE or AIS provide worse customer service than companies we may have dealt with in other countries. Maybe these 2 are better, but still the telecoms don't seem to care much about/for their customers, only their money.)
