Straight Sexual Rights Threatened

Featured Replies

although the Law of Moses requires an inspection of the discharge, by the Levitical priest, in the event of "the uncleanliness that comes upon a man at night," meaning a seminal emission during unconscious sleep.

Does that mean the vicar has to pop round and inspect your sheets if you have a wet dream? :o:D:D

Er, no!

I thought the Catholics only permitted the rhythm method as an acceptable method of birth control. Surely coitus interruptus would be an unacceptable form of birth control, wouldn't it?

No, but I have long since given up trying to understand or rationalise the workings of the church.

Not to argue, but coitus interruptus to a point only seconds before ejaculation is hardly just masturbation.

Agreed, but I don't know to what you are referring.

Back to the OP: the sex police on the far right religious wing want to tell you exactly what you can't do, and they don't know what their only authoritative texts say.

Take the words literally and remove tolerance, love, compassion etc, and what you are left with is simple fundamentalism. Do I believe in the idea that God made man, gave him dominion over the earth and its life - absolutely. Do I believe it took 6 days, that just two beings (Adam and Eve) were created, the ark etc - no. These are stories to explain a complicated story to people who could have a problem understanding DNA, evolution, chaos theory...... anyway, that's my tuppence-worth.

Well I disagree with your analysis that the people would have had a problem with anything. The truth is that the people were not 'simple' but very clever and learned. The level of intelligence and literacy in ancient Israel would put any modern society to shame. But that's just my tuppence worth!

Your dissertation on Onan and Onanism, is the best I have read.

Great, matey.

Yes, if the quote is correct, the president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary would be a most powerful Baptist in Lousiville, KY, where my former roommate got a Master of Divinity Degree in the 1980's, during the grand purge of all liberals (both of them), all moderates (maybe five), and a dozen slandered conservatives. There was so much fear in the classrooms at that seminary, that one of his professors forbid tape recordings of his lectures. Until that time, Southern Seminary was considered the most intellectual and academic of the 8 or 9 graduate seminaries of the Southern Baptist Convention, which is the most powerful NGO in the southern USA.

Let's see: during twenty years of marriage as a Baptist, including the ministry, I penetrated my wife's vagina over 4,000 times, creating nine pregnancies, six of which made it through gestation. And I'm gay!

So, if the "American Taliban" has its way, you guys who really are straight back in the USA will need to make your woman or your womenfolks pregnant about TWENTY times, and don't you dare think about abortion.

Yes, it's a real danger to you straight "breeders."

It's a dnager to everyone. People like this are turning back the clock on so many advancments, with Bush's help!! Ohio has taken away the right for Gays to get health care for fcks sake!! Any non-christian can be fired or refused work in any organization that is christian based and government funded!! This is BS and these people are in control!!

Hmmm. I'm not aware of this, Bop. Do you have actual examples? The courts would never allow this if the organization is indeed government funded.

Yes, PB told it just the way it happened. Surprising how urban myths grow and take hold!

Wow, when I first posted this it was a long time ago now, but I remember reading all about these issues in the New York Times. The Salvation Army firing their non-Christian employees was covered by the Times. I know they were trying to fight it, but becuase it was a religious orangization, not a company, the court was still sideing with the SA. The Health care issue was I believe refusing to recongnize insurance that was used to cover a 'partner'. Like I said it was a while ago but the Times did a week long series at one point.
