I'm interested in putting a garden on my roof top 4th floor so to speak

to get a nice place to be, to get insulation and maybe some food.

Is anyone doing something like that?

Any info would be great, just preliminary investigations atm

Thanks

How do you know the roof will support the weight of planter boxes and soil then the additional weight of wet soil.... what kind of roof is it... are you going to need to put a membrane to prevent the possibility of roots penetrating?

I would find out about that first... find a structural engineer ..... that may not be so easy here... depending on where you are...

The garden may well end up in your living room....wink.pngfacepalm.gif

If it is a concrete roof you can also buy fake grass and nice plants/tree's in big pots. Or grow some big vines from the ground floor all the way up.

Grass is not easy, needs water and cutting and much soil.
