webfact
Suthep tells supporters to be on standbyBANGKOK: -- Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban told supporters of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee to be on the standby for a mass gathering in Bangkok to protect the independent organizations against possible escalated harassment by red-shirt followers.Addressing a crowd at Lumpini park Thursday night, the PDRC secretary-general said he expected red-shirt followers to step up pressure on the independent organizations once the National Anti-Corruption Commission formally indicts caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in connection with corruption in the rice pledging scheme. He told the audience that the independent organizations need to be protected otherwise they would not be able to perform their duties.Mr Suthep urged the prime minister to accept the Constitution Court’s ruling against the government’s two trillion baht loan bill for the development of infrastructure mega projects including high-speed trains. He asked the prime minister whether she should respect the law or respect the Thaksin regime.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/suthep-tells-supporters-standby/ -- Thai PBS 2014-03-14

Popular Post chooka
Will this be the final, final, final push finally? If he goes in and tries to strip them of their rights to protest he might just start a bloodbath. He believes that only his people have rights to do as he is doing. Democracy Suthep style everything for him and nothing for the rest Edited March 14, 2014 by chooka

Popular Post Fat Haggis
Awesome, it took less than 5 posts to make a reference to 2010 Both sides are as bad as each other Respect the Law he says?? You'll be handing yourself over to the Cops this morning then?Inciting protestors to capture Government officials as well I seem to recall...pretty sure that's also against the law.. This doesn't sound like the same man from 4 months ago, where he had a lot more credibility than he has today..

Coffins outside of NACC (by red shirts), effigies of a couple of rice-scheme related ministers (by farmers) and shit (by various groups). Scamper
The red shirts' attacks on the NACC are clearly stepping up. Yingluck is now expected to give testimony in fifteen days. The UDD will do everything to prevent that from happening. The public has not shred of trust in Chalerm to protect the independent agencies. That is why the reform movement is taking place. It isn't a joke or something to take lightly. I've seen shops close, business dry up, but they still think that the loss is worth it. To wit: Yingluck go away. Popular Post marstons
Pity they cant all go home have an election and all sides accept the out come, just like most posters on here home countries do. Who ever wins will be corrupt and robbing the poor to feed the rich. I detested Blair & Brown but accepted it and sooner or later the Thais are going to have to the same. I would imagine its been made clear to the Generals by parties of influence outside of Thailand that over throwing Democratically elected governments is no longer acceptable

I would imagine its been made clear to the Generals by parties of influence outside of Thailand that over throwing Democratically elected governments is no longer acceptable I suspect that the Generals and any other"interested parties" have also worked out that this time they would not be able to keep the lid on the protest, domestic and international if they toppled the elected government, especially one headed by a personable and telegenic female Prime Minister. That is why military and judicial coups seem to have stalled, no doubt whilst they try and think of another plan.
