GPS Vehicle Tracking

Featured Replies

Due to employee abuse - we are looking to fit GPS Tracking systems to our business vehicles.

We are interested in a system that can provide as many features and as much data as possible- Online access from internet, current position, routes traveled, engine RPM, speed traveled, fuel consumption, start and stop times, and more.

The ideal system would also be able to provide detailed reports and maintain a "history", so that when we get complaints we can go back to that time and retrieve information.

Does anyone have any experience with these... can recommend any systems or providers, preferably in Hua Hin or Bangkok?

My company has such a system, PM and will send email you info.

You can use inexpensive ($220 for a pack of 10 from PRC) trackers, and free sofware like OpenGTS to track location, history, speeds

However getting engine performance information as you asked requires much more complicated and expensive gear, and you will see the cost/benefit ratio to fade quickly, you're welcome to come back here posting if what I'm saying isn't true.

Hello,

Can I know where to buy in Thailand the best system ? And the cheapest ?

I want both and don't want that each of them know that I have another one...

Thank you.

I would be interested in a system like this, Tracking and able to Immobilise as a Theft System anything reasonably priced around Pattaya Area or Online ?

Actually this is good technology in vechiles but it depends on what you want the device to accomplish for you.

Check out www.pnptrack.com

No install, alarms, reports engine data.

Hello Bino,

I am working for i-Tracking (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and are providing systems and hardware for GPS tracking.

You or any one else needing this kind or service can call me on 02 204 7915 and we can see what you need.

Alternatively you can send me a mail on info@i-trackingthailand.com, describing what you are looking for.

From the OP:

...provide as many features and as much data as possible- Online access from internet, current position, routes traveled, engine RPM, speed traveled, fuel consumption, start and stop times, and more...

laban and fatz, in this topic you are offering your services in reply to a request for information from another member and therefore nobody will suggest that you are advertising. I, myself, am greatly interested to know how much is available in a tracking system and many others may be, too. Therefore, please feel free to post details of what the systems you have on offer can do, and give links to web pages with the specifications.

Online access from Internet, probably more likely upload of date to the Internet, current position, routes travelled, speed travellled, start and stop times look easy to me for a GPS system to handle. Engine performance data such as RPM, fuel consumption and more may be more difficult but I guess it is feasible. Let's hear about it.

Thanks Maestro- you're da mann! And thanks also to whoever included this topic in today's email. It had been growing stale.

I've been verging on desperation for this info! We need this like yesterday for a fleet of resort minibuses. The guests have been coming with complaints about the drivers. Furthermore, we have found that the drivers are submitting bogus gas receipts, and using the vehicles on their own time... we don't know if they are using it for personal use or transporting other customers under the table.

We are going to buy this system from somebody if we can find a good system that does everything we need. Cost is a factor of course, but we are ready to spend some money. We figure it will save us in the long run and keeping our guests happy and safe is something that can't be measured in Baht alone.

To the suppliers who have contributed; an idea / possible feature if it is available.. a camera to see who is in the minibus at any given time? See if they are our guests or someone else's...?

Do you by any chance also need someone with 10 years experience in fleet tracking/management software design and development? ;)

Just do not forget that in Thailand are readily available not just the GPS trackers, but also the jammers that jam the GSM signal used to communicate with these trackers so in case you want to prevent theft, this might not work as intended in case the thief uses a jammer (you can buy them even in Tukcom Pattaya).

With all respect mate- it sounds like you have some impressive skills, but this sounds way over the top for what we need, when the systems are available "off the shelf" so to speak.

Maybe someone else with bigger needs than ours will see this thread and contact you. Choke dee.

The OP's concern is not about theft of the vehicles. Let's stick to the topic.

Is there really nobody who knows of a place of business that can offer the OP something that comes close to meeting the OP's requirements? Obviously, such business would be owned and run by Thais and the are unlikely to be reading this topic, but is there a Thaivisa member who has had something like this done with his vehicle and could tell about his experience.

These systems exist and are in operation in other countries, perhaps minus reporting of RPM and fuel consumption, but a comparison of claimed fuel consumption based on receipts and reasonably expected consumption can be made based on the travelled distance, and RPM does not seem to be a high priority for the OP. If you suspect driver of revving the engine too high, changing much to late into a higher gear, get a mystery passenger on the van to check it out.

Bino, I did a quick Google search with vehicle tracking system in Thailand and the first few results seem interesting but I have no time to look at these websites in detail at the moment. Check to see if this is a point for you to start.

for me quite simple. nobody should work for a company doing this. in a few days you will see the boss begging people to work again. the real boss is the worker because without them the owner, the shareholders and so on are lost.

The real boss is the boss. Without a business, and a boss, there are no jobs. In a country where unemployment is high, he will have no trouble finding replacements if the current staff aren't happy with working conditions, or being checked on, the right of the employer, and they may well be more reliable and honest staff.

Most large companies are now monitoring employees, as they should. Most employees aren't sufficiently responsible that they can be trusted to work unsupervised as the OP has indicated. It is his right to monitor his employees so that his vehicles are being driven safely and economically, customers not frightened by employees driving, and that they aren't ripping him off by doing 'private work' in his vehicles.

Good luck OP, and I hope you pull the recalcitrant staff into line, or replace them with better.

There are 2 options:
1. if you would like to have the tracker hidden from the driver. That would require tech installation (around 2-3 hours).
The trackers we are using are reliable and tested over the years. So to say, you can inform your drivers that the trackers are there, and if there are missing some hours of track, they will be in troubles.

2. No installation required. Power connection is made through OBD II (plug&play). It is also easy to remove. In that case we can set it to send SMS with alarm.

Trackers are sending position every 30-60 sec (real time). Software accessible online (computers and mobile devices) at any time.
Possible to set millage report and also geozones. Geo-zones: you can be notified by e-mail if the car leaves/enter specific area.
Also: reminders of maintenance, speeding alarms, parking time (with ignition on/off)........

I would be happy to assist you and provide some guidance if needed.

For the reasons we all know, I would't like to post more details. Always happy to meet in person, have some coffee and provide more specs. :)

the only thing we want to know is price, no need to talk and have a coffee, I don't need friends <3

And with such an attitude, it's unlikely that you will have anyway.

Sure, I am going to beg someone and waste my time with any seller in this world !!!

They are nothing and they are everywhere, so if they do not want to sell it's not my problem !

You have already hijacked the OP's thread and indicated a better way of doing an internet search so should already have a good idea of how to do an online purchase so... what are you whining about sellers for?

Hrm. I think if I were a passenger in a bus... I'd be happy to see a camera recording what's going on inside. In fact in the US many school buses have this already.

What are you going to do when the system starts mysteriously breaking down though? I'm sure the drivers will complain that rats just love to chew through the wires.

Gents quick question.

if you buy just the GPS unit it just gives you current location, not reports, correct?

I am sure there is a combination of hardware and software out there that come as a package, any recommendations?
