BANGKOK: -- A Chinese woman was arrested along with 3 kilograms of "ice" worth Bt10 million at Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport yesterday morning.

Customs Department deputy chief Rawi Prateepdolpreecha told the press that Chinese national Li Huanhuan, 26, from Shenzhen was arrested after the drugs were found sealed at the bottom of her bag.

Li claimed she had come to Thailand as a tourist and a friend had asked her to take the bag along for someone living here, but that she did not know it contained drugs.

Must admit that I am confused by the picture accompanying this story. What does it have to do with a drug bust at the airport?

Shouldn't the Chinese woman be sitting at a table, hiding her face, with the drugs in front of her and a bunch of smug looking cops pointing their fingers for the photo-op?

Definetly the wong thing to do ...... coffee1.gif AND maybe the wong photo .......facepalm.gif

wondering what is on the table in the pic?

it looks like " ivory " to me i dont know any1 who,s tried to smoke it thinking its " ice " facepalm.gif

Reading the Bangkok Post this morning shows this photo concerning the ivory trade. Wrong photo!

I wonder if they actually believe the ignorance story

Some people do get tricked into carrying drugs without knowing it. Serving time in a Thai prison (any prison) for the crime of being naive would be a terrible burden indeed.

Such bad media. Posting an irrelevant photo with the wrong story is so irresponsible. Thank god there was no Tinglish.

A Chinese woman was arrested along with 3kg of ice. What is the ice being charged with?

And if it was an ivory bust, shouldn't we be seeing an tusk less elephant pointing at the table?

and who was this friend in Thailand she was to give it to? why are they not after him?

What makes you think they're not? The police are hardly likely to disclose their follow up moves are they?

Another Hi End Tourist for the stats?

3 kilos is a lot of "extra weight"

even a fairly strong man would probably notice his bag is 3 kilos heavier never mind a little chinese woman

Recently suggestions were made for a new visa approach (visa free) towards Chinese toursits/arrivals

Surely this is an option for a new visa on arrival when drugdealing

a longstay visa in bangkwang!

So its frozen ivory , or is it ice age mammoth tusks made to look like wood.with icing. And if shes bust, how can she afford to travel.

Disclose their follow up moves?

I thought, they always do that.

Declare that they will arrest a named criminal 3 days before it happens.

Announce that they will bust a joint a week before it happens.

This is nice police.........Plenty of advance warning to the criminals.

Wasn't it just yesterday that TAT is looking for ways to bring more Chinese tourists to Thailand? He is one way :)

This picture is not go ice, it's of pieces of Elephant Ivory. Someone must have mixed up the photos.

She got all that in her bag???

Oh my, that 'ice' really looks like ivory.

Maybe it's a new kind of ice, 'Mammoth Ice' biggrin.png

Thailand should reinstate the death penalty for drug smuggling. Not many would be stupid if they did and it would certainly give a very positive image of Thailand to the rest of the world

Yeah, I might have a go at some Ivory, the last time I tried smoking ice I went through two lighters trying to crank up the wet papers, I don't know what they see in it.

Yes many of us noticed the absence of the finger.. . . quite concerning, this lack of protocol

Maybe she had sampled too much of the product

and thought she could fly away with it.

How did they spot her - she had a broad grin on her face -

(Disclaimer: the only ice I am an authority on is in my Coke)

But announcing she was busted, makes people leave their asses behind, or like a certain guy in Dubai, on the run?????

wondering what is on the table in the pic?

Ivory, from another bust.
