Voters go to the polls to elect their senators

So, let's see .. no money for voting, and the election will most probably be annulled anyway and another one will be coming up in a few weeks. Not really surprising nobody bothers with the lame circus.

The country needs a dictator, this <deleted> isn't going anywhere.

Thailand is well on it's way to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Failed_state

We have one (a dictator) - a camel herder and criminal fugitive hiding out in the desert - or aren't you up to speed on what has been going on here for the past few years.

AHHHH he was elected not appointed as a murderer like suthep and abhisit.

To follow your line of thought then Mr T, red shirt leaders, police, army are all murderers as well & don't forget the mother of the nurse wants one of PTP's favourite sons up on murder charges as well.

Widespread Apathy Greets Senate Election

By Khaosod English.

BANGKOK: __ Poll for elected Senate seats opens today to a widely apathetic mood, with election officials admitting that they expect a low turnout.

Pol.Lt.Col. Suchart Surasadcha, local EC director in Pathum Thani, said he expected the turn out rate to be as low as 40%, far lower than what EC officially expects, and certainly lower than the 70% turnout for 2 February election.

So can they finally make up their mind ?

EC expects 70% turnout for Senate election

and certainly lower than the 70% turnout for 2 February election.

And where did he get this figure ?

why do you all insist in throwing out any credibilty you have when you come out and just tell absolute lies

If you lives in thailand words like there would see you in jail for 5 or more you

so you not only a liar but you a convicted criminal in waiting

I may be wrong so please show me a reputable link that shows these two people have been convicted of murder

If PTP want good people to lie on their behalf they are not doing them salve any good by picking you and other PTP Pro Government members to talk on their behaif when your lies are so easy to see

Thai-visa, where supporters of one piece of **** spend their time arguing with supporters of a different piece of ****.

When will you people learn?

There's no more Premier League on TV.

This is far better than the Scottish footy

My wife just went off to vote.

"Who are you voting for" I asked?

"The one with the nicest face" she replied.

There you have it I am afraid.

Not my wife. She understands politics and voted for the one she wanted.

There you have it.

If she understands politics at least we have one Thai voting for the 'non Thaksin' leaning candidate then.

Oh I guess someone like suthep would be much better RIGHT? We need more murderers in all levels of politics.

I would wager that you have murdered the same number of people as Suteb has, he didn't murder anyone that there is any evidence for. Soldiers killed armed rioters for the most part, some people were also killed by the vicious red thugs including soldiers. Do you have video or at least photos of Suteb out with them with a gun in his hands ? No, thought not. So please keep your lies and false accusations away from here.

So far the polls are showing a true reflection of an inability of the population understanding what the senators job entails.

Arporn Sarakham, wife of the red-shirt leader in Udon Thani, is expected take the province's seat. So a women that removed her terrorist husband fromThailand to escape charges from the law will have the power to change the law. So far so undemocratic. Well done PTP.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/715002-voters-go-to-the-polls-to-elect-their-senators/?p=7627479

Adisorn Kamnerdsiri who was a prominent member of the RKM 51 terrorist group that murdered Dj's and stopped the gay parade with threats of violence looks like taking a seat in the senate as well.

Seems like there polls are correct after all. Go figure….After 180 years of polls and having them predict the result the majority of the time the polls in Thailand are no different.

Time to accept the will of the majority….Even if you don't accept it.

I pity the majority that are being demonized by the minority terrorist group..

Heaven help we have a fully elected senator where 100% terrorist, criminals and law breakers will mould the future of society...

Like Canada, I appreciate an appointed senate.

Then Thaksin would be the number one candidat, with his WOD 2718 people dead, Tak Bai 78 people dead. Problem is he is to much of a coward to come home and face the music.

A simple start would be to avoid the "you're either with us, or you're against us" bull****.

The choice does not need to be Suthep or Thaksin. It can be neither.

'Election Commission chairman Supachai Somcharoen urged the voters to vote for good and qualified people into the Senate with conscience and without selling their votes.'

That rules out Kwanchai's wife then.

But then again, the morons will vote her in anyway. Look at the totally unqualified government they put into power.

Also the EC ought not to bother about asking kindly not to sell their votes. They need to threaten them with prison and the campaigners who are paying, and ultimately the removal and instant imprisonment.of the candidate they were paid to vote for... (5 years prison should do it).

I have been a little kinder. I have said rite along 2 years in prison for the buyer and 5 times the amount of the bribe to the seller.

But if you want 5 years OK with me. Not going to quibble over details.smile.png

That's why Yingluck was chosen as the puppet of Thailand....she meets the first criteria of good Thai selection after endless diets of brainless Thai soapies....she is good looking and presentable....pity that she chooses her blood over mainstream values and morals. Some of the worlds best leaders have not been highly educated but could understand the need for the application of main stream morals and values for higher gain. Hopefully the Senate elections put forward people who want to see reform. So one would hope the reformists are all good looking.

It has always had me wondering if Thaksin had been on the Ballot how many votes would Yingluck have gotten?

Also out of the male population how many voted with their lower head.

You might want to pay close attention to what the senate does in the next month or two. Depending on who the electives are there could be some big upsets with the government. On the other hand it might be a huge disappointment to the anti government protestors.

Any way you cut it at this point in the political climate of Thailand they can make a big difference.wai.gif

Suthep is not running for any thing. He is standing up for the Thai's rite to a moral government. Thaksin is running for dictator through proxies'. He wishes to bring more poverty to the country as his bank account expands.

Right now he is busy trying to figure out if he wants to be the dictator or an emperor. Notice the lower case e in emperor.

My parents in law were paid 300 Bt each yesterday in Samutprakarn.

The candidate went from door to door handing over money to voters.

So much for clean polls.

Thaksin's money no doubt.

Excuse my Gentlemen. How could I get some of the Thaksin money? I am most interested.

They will not. And the worst thing is, they are rightless aliens. They just kid themselves, isn't that funny.

And that is my mission, providing the solution.

The healing mantra:

Fellow Aliens

Overcome your hate! Be happy and chant the Mantra;

Luang Phu

Luang Phu Bhudda Issara

Luang Phu Bhudda Issara Hare Krishna

Luang Phu Bhudda Issara Hare Krishna Hare Rama

Luang Phu Bhudda Issara Hare Krishna Hare Rama Brahamaputra

That makes you very gay, doesn't it. Chant all night long.

By the way, who is the tanned short guy, who does not look like a thai? A football referee?

Thaksin can't be pleased to see the apparent winner in the Bangkok Senator race is his old nemesis, Khunying Jaruwan Maintaka.

"The elected members of the last Senate were mostly supporters of Yinglucks Pheu Thai party, but we need to wait to see how many of the new senators are in her camp," said Panitan Wattanayagorn, a political scientist at Chulalongkorn University.

"There seem to have been quite a few independent candidates elected this time."

In Bangkok, early polling results had Jaruvan Maintaka, a former auditor general, winning the Senate seat. Jaruvan is seen as an independent candidate opposed to the so-called Thaksin regime, a reference to fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, Yinglucks brother and the de facto leader of the Pheu Thai party.
