Only Posting Part Of A Story

Featured Replies

I've noticed a recent change to only post a bit of a news story and link to the site it came from to read the whole story. I find this annoying and time consuming to have to bring up and wait for another window to load in order to read what I wanted in the first place. Since link rot is around 8% a month, it means the archived threads over time won't have the whole story which will be lost forever. And finally, it just seems to reduce the significance of thaivisa from being an information source to a bunch of links elsewhere. What gives?

Its regulations placed on us by the news sites themselves, not something we dreamt up.

Sorry, but thats the way its gotta be now :o

Wolfie, can you please explain what the exact rules are for posting (or not) an article from a Thai (or international) newspaper/agency ?

I posted, sorry quoted, an article about the Thai/English 'Lady' wo is to be extradited back to the UK in the topic which is about her (brothel-case) and noticed it was deleted completely (my complete message).

I also noticed that (some of) the Mods and Board now post just a (small) part of an article followed by a link to the source/newspaper.

Is that the way we TV-members should follow?

Thank you.

We want to comply with common copyright rules on the net. As a general rule here on Thaivisa Forum, please use only two or maximum three sentences together with a clickable link back to the actual news source. Thanks.

Thanks a lot George.

Will follow your comments.

Try to avoid quoting Bangkok Post, as their links are expiring quick.

Problem is most the links seem to stop working pretty quick.

This is known as link rot. Some news organizations intentionally go out of their way to kill links so they can request you pay money in order to see the story in the future.
