PM Yingluck voices concern over Yala bombings

She actually managed to get the expressing concern bit in for once and then goes and ruins it by specifying protection for the people in economic zones. sad.png

If she is too busy to go to the south then send the man from the Labour Ministry there instead. Of course, he might need a few fortifying drinks first and more than one visit to a happy toilet. smile.png

Her facial expression certainly doesn't convey that at all .....??bah.gif

I have visited HaT Yai and the south for more than 30 years.

I remember many good times and good friends.

However the South changed when Taksin came to power.

There was no southern problem before Taksin.

The problems continue in the South because of this incompetent PTP Taksin government.

There were problems but nowhere as bad as it is now & it must be bad reporting because surely even YL could not be so heartless to state the line about the economic zones although it does seem quite common to express worries about financial losses in the face of impending disaster. Money is so much more important than people.

Same statements are made when flooding happens... Protect the economic / industrial zones and to hell with the others ... so this is nothing new

She would look worried if she broke a fingernail.

As the Defence Minister, I would have thought she had a duty to visit the south a little more often to give encouragement and support rather than spending all her time (and public monies) canvassing for votes up north.

Also as the Defence Minister, has she been involved or given suggestions as to just "how" the situation in "the south" might be addressed/managed?

No way. She knows (or at least her advisors know) that the South would not welcome her. Neither Muslim nor Buddhist Southerners can stand her. I would hazard a guess that nobody would dare even innocently wear a red shirt anywhere in the south.

Amazing, 24 comments so far and not one troll or faux Yingluck fan. Something to do with the subject matter, perhaps ? whistling.gif

Speak of the devil and he will come. No sooner had you posted than one of the resident village idiots pops up.

"Voicing concern (over <flll in the blank>)" Isn't that what you do after your political capital is spent, your credibility gone, and your effectiveness in office pretty much burnt out? I don't know what the thai word for "caretaker" is, or its precise meaning, but in english it's always sounded about right to me...
