As Ups mentioned a while back this age "limit" for the young player of the year seems silly. How did that get started ? Seems like 21 would be a reasonable cut off. That would put Sterling where he ought to be.

i don't remember how or when it became 23 or under at the start of the season - but it does seem a bit daft when you think that the international level is under-21 for 'young' players.

Lamela would be better judged when he gets a chance to get fit from the back injury and all the other injuries he's had this season. Soldado however has been fit and played enough games and is well worthy of the title.

Player of the season is obvious.

Young player of the season is a joke because the age cut off is about three years too high. So, to me its an irrelevant award. Brad Friedal gets my vote.

we've had a few of those stupid ones this season. 6-3 away at cardiff, 4-3 at home to swansea, 5-3 away at stoke. the 3-3 away at everton back in november might be game of the season i think, had everything.

personal point of view it's hard to choose between lashing spurs 5-0 away, the 4-0 spanking of everton at anfield and the 5-1 demolition job on arsenal.

though i think game of the season might not actually have happened yet.

perhaps. difficult though because i think we've been by far the most entertaining team to watch, all bias aside.

alright, the villa 4-3 against west brom in the midlands derby was a good humdinger and hull battering fulham 6-0 was a decent one as well.

If anyone has a shout from United it surely has to be Januzaj. Easily the most exciting talent to emerge from this season but hasn't contributed enough, for one reason or another, to put him in serious contention I think.

It doesn't seem feasible for young player of the year, that Daniel Sturridge is second favourite, behind odds on Eden Hazard.

If Suarez was out of it they'd probably be contesting player of the year along with Yaya.

on early season form, you'd have to say januzij, but perhaps tired and became a little less effective as the pitch's got heavier?, certainly his lack of starts from mid season on has probably ruled him out. Barkley,, yeah reasonable shout, 2 good feet and strong but atm doesn't score enuf or impose himself enuf IMO really 2 be a contender. Jones has been solid in a difficult season for utds defense and played well when asked 2 go into midfield he's has had a all round good season

Suarez doesn't deserve Player of the Year after yesterday performance. Biggest Game of the season and the 25th Anniversary and he cant behave himself. Diving all of the pitch, complaining all the time to the ref, acting like a little girl. Should have got sent off for one of the dives. Didn't score a goal and hasn't against the top teams this year. Shame because he's a great player on his day but really lets himself down on a bad day.

Well you are right in as much as he should have been sent off. Theres no disputing that. However, his seasons performances warrants player of the season by a distance imho.
