Criminal court to hear request to send redshirt leaders back to prison

BANGKOK: -- The Criminal Court is set to begin hearing a petition this morning seeking its order to put two redshirt leaders, Jatuporn Promphan and Nattawut Saikua, back in jail after both were accused of breaching bail conditions.

The petition was filed by a former Democrat MP accusing Jatuporn and Nattawut of inciting unrest in the country when they addressed redshirt rally in Nakhon Ratchasima on February 23 encouraging redshirt supporters to get ready for a showdown with anti-government protesters.

Their inciting speeches breached the conditions laid down by the court before granting them temporary release on bail.

But today both redshirt leaders designated their lawyers to seek permission to put off the hearing until May 8, reasoning that they were sick and not able to make court appearance today.

The court will meet to consider whether it agrees to the lawyers’ request for postponement or not.

Both Jatuporn and Nattawut were accused of terrorism charge in connection with the bloody anti government riot in 2010.

Unlike a physical illness or a bodily injury mental sickness is easy to fake although in the case of the two accused one can but only presume they are mentally ill.crazy.gif.pagespeed.ce.dzDUUqYcHZ.gif

again the stalling of justice, this is all the ptp/reds know, how to put it all off so they can run away like their boss. These red terrorists need to be denied their bullsh*t excuse and made to pay for what they have done or justice will not be served at all. Its time the people of Thailand were able to rely on the courts to treat everyone equal not on how wealthy they are.

This isn't really 'News'. But, some political figure growing a pair of balls and actually turning up at Court on the designated day? .... That would be a major <deleted> HEADLINE

You presume that they're mentally ill because...........?......................or is it just because you disagree with what they represent. That kind of reasoning could in itself be cause for worry - an unhealthy obsession with and denigration of, people you don't agree with, but have never met or reacted with in any way, might itself be a manifestation of mental illness. Just saying.

Not turning up for a bail hearing should result in an immediate warrant for their arrest for it amounts to contempt of court.

What kind of penalty would you recommend for refusing to attend courts for a murder trial or refusing to surrender to police on insurrection charges despite outstanding arrest warrants . I don't recall you making such a emotional appeal over sutheps transgressions, why is that, do you keep harping on about the sanctity of the law, only when it suits?

But you made a lot of sound about it and now your not.. pot kettle.

I wonder if the 8th May is significant . . . isn't the 10th May when the lower house can reintroduce the Amnesty Bill?

Seeing as the next election will probably not be held until July, your conspiracy theory holds little water, but keep on plugging................

Agree 100% but should be same for Suthep, but oh yes... there is already an arrest warrant on Suthep, but he refuse to show up.

But as we all know, for dems and yellows there is no law in Thailand

You've been quick to jump in on other peoples behalf recently, haven't you? Let me remind you, I'm not the one with my knickers in a twist over a bail hearing

Fab4 you really should stop judging others by your own standards your comments are confirming your frames of minds. Remember it's a case of ''mind over matter.'' We don't mind your comments and your comments don't matter.

I can only judge people by my standards - I don't know what other peoples standards are - seems fair to me.

You're now saying you can judge a persons mental state from their comments, which happen to differ from yours. Perhaps you ought to see someone, just saying. Post #22, well...................

Just quick going after you.. if i see you make remarks that are not making sense then I jump in.

I am pretty sure I can find some posts of you about Suthep his hearing ect. Same thing. Both should just come in and face the music. The law applies to us all, also Suthep also the reds though they keep broadcasting it does not.

Why are these two half wits out on bail in the first place, terrorist charges are pretty hot stuff these days.

How come Pojaman and Nopadon have done no time and Thaksin was permitted to flee?
