Criminal Court rejects petition for Nuttawut, Jatuporn's bail revocation

BANGKOK: -- The Criminal Court decided Friday not to revoke bail of Jatuporn Promphan and Nuttawut Saikuar, two red-shirt leaders, as petitioned by the Democrat Party.

The court reasoned that there were no strong evidence and witness to back up allegations by the Democrat that Jatuporn, chairman of the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship, and Nuttawut, incited violence during the recent rally in Nakhon Ratchasima.

The court, anyway, warned the two red-shirt leaders to be careful when organising or making speeches during future rallies.

I wonder how much they were paid?

Must have been a nice amount.

Ah well...... You probably just signed the fate of Thailand into a civil war..... well done.

You had the chance to stop it and elected to feed your greed instead.

I don't know if that's the case so much or that they just decided to duck for cover.

oh well the girls on here cant bleet that the courts are biased anymore can they..of course they will..its still a judicial coup...mmmmm..

Well the criminal court is a branch of the Justice Ministry, so I suppose it is one of the only courts that are not independent of government influence......... and corruption.

This isn't really 'News'. But, some political figure growing a pair of balls and actually turning up at Court on the designated day? .... That would be a major <deleted> HEADLINE

Actually I don't think that it would be a major headline. While not a court date, he did show up without protest to hear charges at DSI.

Some will agree with this decision, others not. But, hopefully, this will go some way to convincing those who doubt/question/deny the Independence of the Courts, that they're wrong

Your last two posts only echo the reds.

To accuse the judges of corruption because they come up with a decision that doesn't suit your view only discredits you and makes any posts you make in the future suspect.

If you, or anyone else is going to talk about justice then you must accept the courts rulings even though you don't like them.

But why May 8? Why not April 21? Do they have some flu that they know will last 3 weeks? lol

My theory is they have something planned before May 8 which would cancel the court appearance. Maybe they are hoping to start a civil war by then, or burn the courts down, or plan a trip abroad, or ...

Or then again, maybe they are just hoping to get away with 3 weeks this time, reasoning that one month would be too long.

For those of us who are prepared to accept decisions of the courts that's fine, so be it.

However I was wondering if it's enough to cure their illness ?

Perhaps a nice trip to Hong Kong, to take the orders waters, might be appropriate ? whistling.gif

Not turning up for a bail hearing should result in an immediate warrant for their arrest for it amounts to contempt of court.

What kind of penalty would you recommend for refusing to attend courts for a murder trial or refusing to surrender to police on insurrection charges despite outstanding arrest warrants . I don't recall you making such a emotional appeal over sutheps transgressions, why is that, do you keep harping on about the sanctity of the law, only when it suits?

sorry but correct me if I'm wrong but Suthep is not out on bail

Not that I agree with the decision, but I t could possibly help in the long run. How are these two criminals going to get up on stage and claim the courts are bias now? If there bail would have been revoked it possibly could have re-sparked the attitudes of the vast amount of support they have lost since 2010.

So look on the bright side, besides who was going to arrest these two terrorist? Their bothers in arms, the RTP, Chalerm and Tharit in desguise, snow balls chance in hell.

Best thing the courts can do is grant them their 15 sick leave. Locking them up ahead of the bigger ruling will only fuel the fire of the UDD rallies, leaving them be allows the courts more evidence as to their violations during the coming two weeks.

so in you mind the law must bend to threats

you must be a followe of Thaskin

the law is not the law

again the stalling of justice, this is all the ptp/reds know, how to put it all off so they can run away like their boss. These red terrorists need to be denied their bullsh*t excuse and made to pay for what they have done or justice will not be served at all. Its time the people of Thailand were able to rely on the courts to treat everyone equal not on how wealthy they are.

I thought a bit before making a comment but I find it hard not to say something about your 'dear Leader' who has warrants for MURDER and he is too busy to attend any court appearance - a double standard by you and I will say it again, now that you have been so hateful in things you print and put on public media that you should start to shiver at the possibilities that your targets of hate may come after you - maybe not today but they have memories like elephants. It is okay to give civil replies in public but in my opinion you are not a very informed person though you have had over a thousand posts on TVF in your history of quite a few years.

The Court had the evidence presented to them , they came to a decision, end of story

Politically those two are more dangerous to their own side out of prison, If we look at both sides of dispute more people have got their own side in trouble by what they have said than caused damage to the other side. I suspect that when the election do eventually take place it will be won by more people voting against the other side than people voting because they want the winner in power. Safest tactics in those situation is to keep your heads down and appear to be the reasonable person/party. Both of them are loose cannons.

well what we ned to know I what evidence was presented to the courts

and what was with held

then we can make up out minds knowing all the facts

untill them we must give the courts the benefit of the doubt

Jatuporn is getting a little fat isn't he ? He is starting to look like ..dear leader...even the hair cut, let it grow some more on top and we won't know the difference

He threatened a hunger strike sometime ago, he obviously got confused. He's heading into Jabba The Hut Territory.

Can we assume you refer to Suthep? You call the quoted poster "not very informed". Well since you're so well informed can you kindly tell us when Suthep had a warrant issued for murder? Any link? Actually not just one since you use the plural "warrants",

If the judges believe that then all is lost.. sick and not ready to appear a court appearance even a blind man can see through that lie.

Cowards that is what they are. If you cant do the time don't do the crime.

Their desire to delay the action has been denied as they said they go ahead without them being there!!!

That isn't going to make the reds any more accepting of the CC and the NACC is it?

They will be happy to accept this decision, yet they will not accept the other courts.

So far this court has done almost all the bidding of this government.

They released those 2 terrorists, they issued arrest warrants at will for CAPO and the DSI. They issued bank account freezes for the DSI.

I can't agree with you....... If the reds camp feel that they can bleat all day long about the other courts, then in fact they must accept that the same can be used against their cause.

The CC and the NACC are clearly going to act based on rule of law.... But this ruling is beyond apprehension. These guys have clearly breached their bail and they say no evidence when we all know for a fact that there is lots of evidence.

There is a HUGE difference between a court that makes a ruling to removes dangerous people from doing damage to the nation and a court that releases dangerous people to do damage to a nation.

You presume that they're mentally ill because...........?......................or is it just because you disagree with what they represent. That kind of reasoning could in itself be cause for worry - an unhealthy obsession with and denigration of, people you don't agree with, but have never met or reacted with in any way, might itself be a manifestation of mental illness. Just saying.

Is this similar to your unhealthy obsession and denigration of the "elites", "scum", "thugs" and "fascists" that don't agree with your point of view?

No it's not.

Suthep is a Thai National hero.... with no outstanding charges against him that he has not answered... he has no outstanding warrants for his arrest... He is not a red terrorist. he has not stood on stage and asked his low life followers to burn down Bangkok.... and he has not ran away from anyone... Do'nt try to blow the whistle on him... Golden or any other colour.. crawl back into your whole.... whistling.gif

The fact that they HAVE NOT revoked their bail shows that they are clearly not biased against the red shirts!!!

They made sukhumband step down over something that his election aids/supporters had done which suggests that they are. if anything, biased against the Democrats.
