I claimed the 60-65 pension credit , in UK when I was 60 .unemployed ,no much money .......ahem .....then I moved here without giving notice ..oh dear.

3 and a half years later, yes I know I should have informed them ,, but got desperate .I received the 145 pound week Its been stopped by Pension people now , No letter or explanation , though, I did realise that I should be in UK..but I,m here still.

Anyone have experience of this and what sort of pooh , I,m in now ...............no property in UK or here.

Any ideas how to proceed , especially regards the state pension at 65 ??

Very worried of course .

See you on the next series of "overseas tax dodgers"

Its no big deal if you come clean and repay the money you claimed.

Of course it wouldn't have happened if you had to go an sign fortnightly.

26,390 GBP without the yearly increase of a minimum of 2.5% of tax payers money that you were not entitled to. No sympathy at all for you.

Should have pointed out , No criminal record of any kind , if the blokes that destroyed the fiscal market in 2000 2006 2008 and the 200k I now decimated.........put with them ,sold house 2000 and came here................dont suppose they get to pay anything back ................full UK stamps .

A sorry mess , my fault . will have to phone them in UK for consequences.

Surely--if you have paid all your contributions then you are entitled?

Last doctor I phoned there in 2000 , refused to come out , I lived alone , actually crawling around floor ..doctor recommended I get some Ibuprofen and paras , nice one ................ Guess I.ll just have to phone pension people .

It wasn't my suggestion--although it is certainly what will be expected.

Not trying to sound smug--because I am not in a much better situation--but it's a bit late for Pension Planning.

I have been trying to Top Up my Pension Contributions for some time--it's not that simple.

I hear they're short of couriers to Bali. Upside: Good money. Downside: They got some great painkillers.

This is not the proper forum to ask this question. I'm American, and I know if you have a problem with the IRS, you don't try to negotiate your way out by yourself. The same may be true in this case. You may wish to seek a more appropriate forum to find out if you professional assistance.

Bite the bullet and ring them direct, ASAP, and put your mind at rest one way or another.. Advice you get on any forum is tinged with doubtful information. Most cases have different situations and histories

I think his situation is pretty straight forward, He is a criminal who has defrauded the government. He will be prosecuted and told to pay the money back but being as he cannot they would probably take a bout £1.00 a week out of his pension, if he has one coming and a suspended sentence in court.

Had you been a government minister you could have paid back 5% and apologised..
as you are just a pleb you will have to pay it all back and do some bird..

Rule 1

Never admit to anything.

Rule 2

Never admit to anything.

Rule 3

Contact pension organization and ask about pension, don't mention anything about what you did.

If they ask, just say you don't know, as far as you know you have done nothing wrong.

Really, 9 times out of 10 these government places have no idea about your past, where you have been or what you have done.

Unless you admit to something, of course. Their records are usually full of holes.
