US Embassy Statement on the Dissolution of Move Forward Party in Thailand
By the way - I'm not condoning the practice of dissolving parties or limiting any parties or their candidates access to be on the ballot. Quite the opposite. I'm offended by the undemocratic behavior. I just find the hypocrisy to be quite over-the-top by the US and UK. Now wait for the EU to chime in as well to lecture the brown people in developing nations about "Democracy." You know - it is the "white man's burden" right? Freaking hypocrites. -

The Tim Walz thread.
Sorry, I provided the direct quote from the National Guard. Case closed. What is interesting is that you argue against Walz, a 24 year veteran, in favor of Donald Trump, a draft dodger, *on the basis of military service*. In other words, you have no sense of irony. -

What about this Samsung Washing Machine? Should one buy it?
Due to a very sudden and serendipitous circumstance beyond my control, I seem to have been very recently compelled to opt out of the Samsung washing-machine choice I made earlier this week. Therefore, I am now considering upping the ante in order to buy a slightly pricier washing machine of no specific brand, as a replacement. Therefore: a. If I were to increase my budget to Bt.12000.00 for a top loader, and… b. If I were willing to accept any brand available in the local market, then… c. What might be the very best top-loader I should consider? I don’t know whether or not you have ever heard of the internet site, ‘Thaiger Live’, but here they discuss this very topic. https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/2221-the-8-best-washing-machines-of-2021/ I would say that their suggestions might be a bit outdated by now. And, in light of this, I would ask the members: If someone gave you Bt.12,000 to buy a top-loading washing machine, then what, exactly, would you buy? Thank you, in advance…. 16Kg capacity might be a real plus for some types of bulky bedding.... Gamma Thank you, guys! -

Thai Elderly Couple's House Vandalized With Pork Blood and Pickled Fish
In Bangkok, a Thai couple has sought assistance from a news agency after failing to get the local police to identify two unknown persons who vandalized their home. The perpetrators were reported to have hurled bags containing pork blood and pickled fish at their residence located at Soi Phetchaburi 31 in the Ratchathewi district. The incident, which happened on August 5, was followed up by a team from Channel 3 on August 8. The victims live in a five-story building, with the ground floor functioning as a shop for selling 'Kanom Krok', also known as coconut pancakes, next door to Pratunam Market. The 65-year-old female victim, named Bualip, reported that she heard banging noises at their front door around 2.30am while they were asleep on the second floor. Initially, her husband thought it was due to an explosion in an outside electric transformer. However, upon investigating, they found blood stains on their door and nearby floor, accompanied by a foul odor. They speculated the blood was possibly mixed with pickled fish. To help figure out what occurred, they asked their daughter from Pathum Thani province to scrutinize their home's security footage. The footage revealed two individuals arrived at their home on a motorcycle, one person remained on the vehicle while the other threw two bags of what is believed to be blood at their house. Unable to identify the suspects who had motorcycle helmets on and used a motorcycle without a registration plate, the couple filed a complaint with the Phayathai Police Station. Additional footage obtained from neighbors and local businesses was also provided. Although the police promised a visit, the couple claims they never showed up. Bualip expressed her bewilderment on the motivation behind the suspects’ actions. She maintained that she and her husband have lived peacefully in the building for over 30 years without quarrelling with anyone, as managing their shop consumes most of their time. In response to Channel 3’s follow-up, the Phayathai Police Station confirmed they are actively investigating the incident.
