Tailors in Bangkok

I have been travelling to Bangkok for a number of years and have always had suits, shirts and jackets made.

My latest visit was <snip> Tailors in Soi 11/1, Sukhumvit Road, the guys there are real conmen, I had some shirts made and each shirt fitted differently the material was inferior when compared to shirts I had had made, they charged more money too. They also made me a jacket which they said was cashmere with silk lining, but the jacket was mixed fibre wool and something else and the lining was polyester and did not fit on the arms, they replaced it and sent me a new one in which I had to pay 2500 baht delivery and customs import duty and vat totalling 4500 baht, I still not received the jacket as yet.. On a positive note they made me a leather jacket which I was really pleased with although it had to be readjusted in the arm length as it was about 2 inches too short, the crease where they made the adjustment is still in the leather

DO NOT TRUST THESE TAILORS, THEY ARE TOTAL CONMEN.

I visited New Esquire Soi 11 Sukhumvit back in 2009 and had two cashmere jackets made the material was what it said on the tin and lining was too along and fitting was ok.

In contrast I visited Raja Fashions (Bobby, Soi 8) in 2012 and had a couple of suits and shirts made and the finished article was outstanding with lots of detail to the suits and shirts, material was excellent and fitting was impeccable. This of course is reflected in their rankings on TripAdvisor. My next visit to Thailand will include a visit to see Bobby at Rajas Fashion to have another couple of suits made and some shirts.
