HI ,

We are looking at VR in Thailand as here in Australia it is $7000 . Does anyone have a contact of a Surgeon that performs this?

Have emailed Bkk Hosp and Bumungrad and both are over $5000 ?

Thanks

for what it's worth................If the V was done recently with the newer technique, then it's an easy procedure and good success rate, but if it was done a while ago, then more expensive/costly and lower success rate.

Some info in this thread (though the prices mentioned will have risen i nthe years since) http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/78042-reverse-vasectomy/

My advice would be to go to a facility specializing in fertility problems. You might also want to consider discussing alternatives such as sperm aspiration.

These two seem to be the places that get the most consistently good reviews from TV members:

If the V was performed over 5 years ago then forget about it sorry-it will need a miracle whistling.gif

I very much doubt that what she "does" on ladyboys is vasectomy reversal. And the skill set for gender reassignment surgery is rather different.

Need a specialist in infertility. And as mentioned, percutaneous sperm aspiration is sometimes the better option.

Thanks for your replies, Yep agree though , would want to see a surgeon who is experienced in VR , not gender reassignment. Have looked at other options and still feel this is the way to go first. Original op was 6.5 years ago.

They give you very different advice and success rates here in OZ, maybe will revisit options here, seems a bit hectic just to save 2000$

I think you would b very wise to seek assistance in OZ.

Further you will be able to have a "grown up" discussion with the surgeon about the likelihood of a successful outcome .

Apologies as this is unrelated to the topic.

The member that posted immediately before myself has his nick not clickable. I've always wondered if that mean he/she has been banned. Can anybody tell ?

I had it done twice in the UK some years ago. It never worked. Came to Thailand, had sperm aspiration and eggs then fertilized, before being implanted into wife. Now have three kids. Aspiration is pain free and done under anaesthetic. Used the Nawabutr Clinic.

Save yer money and take note of my post #12. Even if your reversal was successful there will be problems with your sperm. After a vasectomy your body sees sperm as an invader and attacks it with antibodies. These antibodies affect the tail of the sperm making it impossible for your sperm to swim in a direct line. So the likely hood will be, if the reversal is successful, your sperm will be no good anyway. So to save yourself money, time, and effort, just follow my recommendation in post #12. Good luck.

Edit:- Sorry I forgot to tell you how the IVF gets around the sperms swimming ability. They detach the tail of a sperm and unite the head with the selected egg. Easy peezy. bananaman.gif

Are you referring to me ? If so, my original vasectomy was 30+ years ago. My reversal was done about 15 years ago. A complete waste of time IMO.

No I was referring to the guys asking about VR. Like you said if it was a long time ago it's probably a waste of time.

I was informed that after 5 years of having had a vasectomy the chances of a successful reversal are very very slim.
