King observes milk cow raising project at a royal demonstration farm in Phetchaburi

PHETCHABURI, 8 May 2014 (NNT) - Thai people rejoiced once again at the appearance of His Majesty the King visiting the Chang Hua Mun Project in Phetchaburi Province, just two days after his public appearance on the Coronation Day celebration.

His Majesty yesterday (May 7) left Klai Kangwon Palace for the Chang Hua Mun agricultural demonstration farm which he established in 2009 using only a royal fund. During the visit, His Majesty paid particular interest to the milk cow raising project which he has constantly visited since moving from Siriraj Hospital to Klai Kangwon Palace in August last year. On this occasion, His Majesty gave milk to a month-old calf and visited a cow which just gave birth to a bull calf the other night, raising the number of cattle, all Holstein Friesians, at the farm to 34.

Chang Hua Mun Project has served as a demonstration farm to provide knowledge on animal husbandry and cash crop cultivation to farmers. At present about 1,000 young farmers and agricultural students from nationwide visit the farm daily. Produces from the project are supplied to Golden Place shops nationwide. His Majesty spent about 2 and a half hours at the Project before returning to Klai Kangwon Palace.

Many ideas, but time's running out for an accord

ATTAYUTH BOOTSRIPOOM

BANGKOK: -- THE 10-POINT proposal by Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, aimed at providing a way out of the country's political deadlock, was not beyond expectations - although there were hopes he would suggest something more definite that could really end the on-going conflict. As it turned out, Abhisit is still viewed as another face of Suthep Thaugsuban, his former Democrat colleague who is now head of the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee [PDRC].
