Is femifan a man or a woman? I've never been sure. Maybe a fan of fems?

Femi Kuti is the son of the legendary Fela Kuti, but i messed up my registration on thaivisa ages ago and could no longer be called fela fan, so i just went for femi. He plays outstanding music too, so no hardship!

Ignorant question but is it possible to have foreigners on the committee, or a sub committee.

Such as femifan to bridge the divide?

There are usually two non Thais on the committee.

I am not a member any longer but from what I've seen the current committee has done a fantastic job by clearing up some very long standing problems.

This is my view, and has been for about two years now. There is still some leftover from before that with a few members (and ex-committee people) being overtly political and divisive. I've seen some serious public attacks on some thais' face at the club, and have been most impressed with how they handle themselves, considering face is so big in thailand and asia.
