Ex BLM leader sentenced to prison
If you read the news report above, you'll find that this guy was engaging in fraud on his own under the guise of a similarly named organization that he created and ran by himself -- years after he no longer had any role in the real Black Lives Matters organization in Atlanta. "The allegations surfaced in April 2020 when the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center received a complaint accusing Page of misrepresenting himself as a leader of the Black Lives Matter movement and misusing the organization's funds. According to prosecutors, their investigation revealed that Page had established a social media page named Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta (BLMGA) and registered it as a non-profit capable of receiving donations, with a significant presence on the fundraising platform GoFundMe. According to an FBI news release, financial scrutiny revealed that from April 2018 to May 2020, the BLMGA bank account, solely managed by Page, showcased minor transactions never exceeding $5,000. However, in the wake of George Floyd’s death, donations surged, with June 2020 witnessing approximately $36,493.80, July 2020 around $370,933.69, and August 2020 an additional $59,914.69 in contributions. These funds were directly transferred to the account operated by "Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta, Inc." ... In January 2016, court records show Page "blustered his way past security guards at the Sloppy Floyd Building by claiming he was an FBI agent." Page and the Black Lives Matter of Atlanta movement parted ways shortly after the arrest, which is when he started Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta." [emphasis added] -

help needed for configuring Prime H370 Plus for NVMe RAID
I need help for configuring my system please, I have been running in circles. Situation: I have a ASUS PRIME H370 Plus motherboard (i7-8700k) with a connected SATA SSD and Windows 10 Pro installed. Settings in BIOS are: - PCH Storage setting SATA controller enabled - PCH Storage setting SATA mode AHCI - SATA SSD on SATA port #3 Boots with CSM disabled, Intel RST was running in Windows. What I want to do: - install 2x NVMe SSD Samsung mzvlq512hblu-000h1 (they are blank, unformatted) - mount as RAID 1 - transfer (clone) Windows 10 onto RAID volume - set RAID volume as boot disk Trying to do that, I have been running into trouble: - after I installed the 2 NVMe on the motherboard, the computer booted, but RST stopped working. I reinstalled RST with the latest version, but then it refuses to start, claiming "unsupported platform". - at that point, I could see both NVMe in BIOS listed under "NVMe device configuration" - I activated Intel RAID optane in PCH storage settings, PCH Storage setting SATA mode Intel RST RAID premium optane, PCH Storage setting M2_1 controlled by RST, PCH Storage setting M2_2 controlled by RST - boot from m2 appeared in boot options, but I still chose to boot from the existing boot disk - with these settings, the PC bluescreened - Secure boot setting had always been on "other OS", I activated CSM and then was able to boot normally as before - in Windows storage manager, both NVMe disks are recognized, visible and formattable - Intel RST still doesn't work - Going back into the BIOS, I thought I would now try to make a RAID 1 volume. - In the RAID configuration, only ONE NVMe disk is available for RAID, so I could not make a RAID volume - Under "NVMe device configuration" it now says "No NVMe devices found" Can someone please help me or point me to some documentation detailing the steps I need to take? I imagine I'm not the only one who tried to do that. -

Fun & games at Bangkok Airport
CNX airport used to be the worst when it comes to playing musical chairs with gates, often upto 3 gate change while you're sitting in front of the gate, often when there's delays and the needs to bump certain flights around -

k japanese government bond 6mj fund
if you are referring to a normal fixed account then you can reclaim like any other withheld interest - ie you need to register for a TIN and apply for a refund. In the current environment that may raise other questions regarding remitted income depending on your residency status....... Depends on your risk status and what's available to you depending on many factors - IE $USD and £GBP rates offshore are generally higher (not following Euro so won't comment). -

Post-Y2K BUG & The New American Bedlamism: Was America, historically, ever this crazy?
In my view, that might be considered unethical. Taking Money For Nothing is something that I am absolutely averse to begin doing at this late stage in my life. You know the old song, I guess: I am NOT of the MTV generation, after all..... Kids these days take money for no hard work. In my day, such a concept was totally unthinkable. -

Trump lost the respect of veterans – including me. He's a risk to our democracy.
Oh, well. Hundreds of national security officials, ex-Cabinet members, Gold Star families endorse Trump -

Supporters circulate fake AI image of Trump wading thru flood waters in Georgia
And not a hair out of place. I am of the opinion that if he manages to get installed in the WH again there will be a quiet palace coup, where the likes of those behind the scenes (such as whoever/whatever is funding the corruption of the US Supreme Court) will actually be running things while DT lives out his years on his golf course. The GOP has done this before, starting with Reagan (ok, arguably with Eisenhower) then HW, then W, but I think this time it will be more contentious and daring. This is the real threat in this election. Anticipating a replay of 2000, where SCOTUS picks the president, and we know who that will be. As I've been saying in here, getting the votes is only half the issue. -

V P Debate
As the world turns, there are anatomically perfect (American) men who don't give a hoot about the labeling. No questions asked and no time for smooching, they just "do" it, taking early lunch and seeking out what they couldn't get at home, then go home at the end of the day and make whoopies with their wife/gf. Speaking from experience as a gay man during my sexual heyday in So Cal circa early 2000, (not so coincidentally the setting for the TV series "Bored Housewives of Orange County") I had quite a few "friends with benefits" in this category...actually both JD and Tim (notice the first-name basis here) remind me of some of them (sigh.) -

k japanese government bond 6mj fund
The closest alternative is an 8 month fixed term at 1.8%, and which is taxed. I have always been told that withholding tax on term accounts can't be claimed back. Maybe someone can confirm if this is correct or not? In Japan, interests are still around 0%, so 2% is not such a bad deal imo.....if that actually is what I will get at the end. You have any suggestions for a more favorable option? -

Minnesota teacher pension fund under Tim Walz ‘blatantly cooked,’ investigator finds: …
The NY Post report above comments "undetected for decades." Let's see, Walz has been governor there only since 2019, which means a whole lot of other prior governors served while the same alleged conduct -- supposedly underreporting investment fees paid by the pension fund -- was occurring. Which ones do you want to pin that on? https://www.nga.org/former-governors/minnesota/- 1

Introduction to Personal Income Tax in Thailand
Is there any good posts/thread giving typical example scenarios. I spent 15 minutes reading it expecting to understand if I sell stock in the US (e.g. 100K USD), pay capital gains in the US (mostly at 15% rate), then do I: 1. owe anything to Thailand 2. need to 'do' anything (file a silly form) Similarly, I collect US rental income. I keep it in the states, but I can see a future where I decide to transfer something to Thailand (e.g. paying down a loan). If it's already been taxed in the US, how do I figure out my tax burden (if any) in Thailand? (or even perhaps getting tax credits back to the US) Another example If I send 5M Thai Baht to USA only then to send back a similar amount (say 4.5M THB), because maybe I changed my mind or I just needed the cash quickly to secure a property, then do I need to pay tax on that (and file a silly form of similar). Thanks -
