Where do get Stools/Seats recovered ?

Gents (and Ladies)

I've got 4 nice bar stools, quite pricey, couple of years old and the leather-look cover has just disintegrated in the space of 2 years....

Just wondered if anyone knew where I could get them re-upholstered, preferable near to Sukhumvit Soi 11 but guess I'll travel anywhere within reason !

Thanks in advance,

SB

Don’t know about Bangkok, but up here in Gods Country we have several places that re-upholster car seats and motor bike seats.

Maybe try popping into a car or bike accessory shop to see if they can steer you in the right direction,

Just a thought.

Have a nice day

There's a small shop on the road to the right where Soi 16 ends.

Follow Soi 16 from Asoke until you have to turn right or left. Turn right and go to the next corner, perhaps 200 meters. Total about 1 km from Asoke.

Pretty sure they won't speak English, but I've never asked.

They do some nice looking work, if you can get over a rather disorganized looking shop.

Hi Impulse,

Went for a wander, turned right at Asoke onto Soi 16, past the park and lake and convention centre, turned right at the end of the road in Rama and walked up there to the KlongToie MRT station but couldn't see anything that looked like it might be of assistance. Quite a few car accessories places ....then caught a cab back home to Soi 11

Just wondered how long ago you saw it, I'd give it another try if I thought I could find it !

Regards

I just passed it on my way home from the MRT tonight and they were open and working. It's a small shop so they may not work if they have nothing to do that day.

Here's a screenshot of the shop from Google Street View. Obviously, it's the one with the assorted and sundry upholstery out front. Looks like they were doing car seats, door skins and kitchen chairs that day...

The KC Volvo repair sign in the background is a good landmark. This shop is just about on the corner, with a glass shop right around the corner.

Reading your post, if you went past the park and convention center (and actually saw them), you weren't on Soi 16- you were on the main road. Soi 16 is a left turn off the main road just as you get past the Exchange Tower at Asoke. You'll pass a Foodland on your right, and a Subway on your left and a Citadines Hotel, all on Soi 16 within a couple hundred yards of the main road.

Pass all those places, go another 500 meters, take the scary blind curve immediately after Bali Laos (sp) Restaurant, until you hit the horrid mess where you have to turn left or right. You'll know you're there if you see a new construction going up illegally close to the corner. So close, you'll wonder why anyone would live there. (But I digress)

You have to turn, and right is the correct way. Then you'll go about 200-300 yards and see the KC Volvo sign. Another 20-30 yards and you're there- on the right hand side just before the next corner.

Best of luck.

Edit: Told you the shop was disorganized. But their work looks pretty nice.

Thanks Impulse, yeh I missed the little turning to the left ie Soi 16, saw it and thought NAH....and carried on the main road.

I'll head out early in the morning and try a second attempt !

Found it thanks !

For anyone's future reference the price is 1500thb PVC 4000thb leather to recover each stool although I might get a Thai to ring and ask for Thai price !

They didn't seem to keen to do leather for some reason.....
