Doctor gives people tips to stay healthy and happy throughout the World Cup

A senior medical doctor in Phuket suggests the people put their families before the World Cup, refrain from gambling and drinking alcohol and stay healthy throughout the one-month tournament.

Wiwat Sitamanoj (วิวัฒน์ ศีตมโนชญ์), deputy chief of the Phuket Public Health Office, said people should use wisdom in following the World Cup. Dr. Wiwat said it is not necessary to watch every match so they can have enough sleep and that they should eat food that is useful to bodies and minds and take daily exercises. They also should not drink alcohol and gamble to avoid quarrelling with families and friends and save themselves from running into financial problems, he said.

Dr. Wiwat said people should spend time with their families by watching the World Cup together. He said the World Cup comes and go but families last forever.

Dr. Wiwat said there has not yet been anyone in Phuket seeking counseling for stress caused by the World Cup.
