bubba Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Here is a statement from the Thai Airways Union (in Thai), stating that they intend to join the State Enterprise workers general strike commencing this coming Thursday. Not sure how this will affect flights, but you may want to consider it if you are making travel plans. http://www.bangkokbiznews.com/home/detail/politics/politics/20140519/583225/'สหภาพบินไทย'แถลงการณ์ร่วมขับไล่รบ..html AOT is also a State Enterprise, but not sure if their workers will also join, thus potentially affecting the airports as well. 1
bubba Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 any ideas on thai post are they out also?? Here is a full list of Thai State Enterprises. Thai Post are not in the list. But look at all the other ones. If the unions for all or even most of those groups go out on strike for five days, I think we will see some effects. http://web.nso.go.th/eng/en/link/state-enterprise.htm
RubbaJohnny Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Sadly on need the manin Bangkok signallers or air traffic controllers to be told have along weekend,no consequences full pay for whole system to slow. I'm not sure if they are trying their best to ruin tourism ,trade and inward investment but will have that outcome regardless.Unless anew budget from any side is enacted soon most new projects and the wonderful infrastructure will crumble. I am not taking sides or talking about car loans new trains no the ones that are falling off bombed or badly maintained rails, highways full of dangerous pothoes, crash abrriers, flood prevention. Like a cancer the lack of good governance can surely only distartc for a somewhat jejune health and safety culture.
