BANGKOK: -- The National Council for Peace and Order has summoned Khunying Potjaman Na Pombejra, the unregistered wife of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, NCPO spokesman Col Winthai Suwaree told reporters Sunday.

Speaking to reporters at the Army Club, Winthai said Pojaman was unofficially summoned for a talk. She is among the cases of persons unofficially invited to meet the NCPO, Winthai said.

He said he did not know whether NCPO chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha would talk to Thaksin or not.

The spokesman said he still did not have information as to whether former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra would be released.

But what Dogmatix said about doling out cash is probably true. Well before the days of red shirts, she was described by no less than Snoh as the bagman going around doling out cash.

''Unregistered wife" probably alludes to the fact Mr Thaksin and Mrs Pojaman are divorced. "Technically" divorced it is IMO. This has been in fashion among, wealthy, couples in my country of origin too, in most cases, as a legal (well...) form of income tax evasion, in some other cases to protect the family(ies)' assets when one of the spouses is (or expects to be) exposed to legal actions with possible financial consequences. In the case of Mr Thaksin and Mrs Pojaman, also considering the timing of their (technical) separation, one could be inclined to think it were both cases... IMO this couple is anyways linked by so many dark secrets, so many dirty tricks, and so many corrupt acts, that only death can truly separate them. When the truth could be known (forget it totally), they might be the two main characters of a successfull popular dark, evil, novel...

Yeap, many (probably most) marriages in Thailand occur only under the authority of the religious ceremony but the couple never go register their marriage with the local district office (i.e., get a marriage license). Get a divorce and I guess that un-registers your marriage. I had two in-laws get married within the last 6 months and neither registered their marriage in case the marriage don't work out....makes it much easier just to walk away and start over.

Now look, this has really NOTHING to do with demoracy. But it has a lot to do with honesty and accountability.

May I remind you that it was Thaksin himself who introduced the law that no member of the government, including their family members are allowed to deal with givernment agencies. Pojaman thought she was above the law and her hubby helped her the get that piece of land for half price. But ... she got caught and had to return the land and her husband was sentenced to 2 years of prison for abuse of power. Now, if this is the kind of government you like and defend ... fine .. but take my advice: Don't brag about it.

It is known that she doesn't like Thaksins sisters. It is reported that said something like the situation is Yaowapa fault as can never eat enough (meaning that she overdo the corruption and being a joke about her being too fat).

On the other side she is seen regularly with her "ex" husband and it is said that they only separate for financial reasons. But he has a lot of young girls and spent a lot money on them.

Also she is always the more reasonable person and not known to break every agreement like her husband.

So it can be interesting....she may or may not sell her husband for her own fortune (and her kids).

I had heard for a long time that she collected cash for Thaksin as well. During the building of

the corruption plagued airport, a man had paid a lot of tea money in order to get the parking concession at the airport. Apparently he did not get the concession, and a story was printed

in which he named Thaksin's wife as the person he paid his money to, and he said he was basically going to spill the beans if he did not get his money back . I never heard another word about this

story again, think someone had a talk with him.....

Prayuth is following a standard playbook here, but he is doing it in a quite civilised way.

All of Thaksins family members and allies are being brought in to be given the same lecture - if you fund any trouble we will come after you hard, we will seize all your assets and you will be in front of a military court and you may be locked up for a long time - try to oppose us and you may not live to regret it.

What the military has to do is cut off the source of funds that could possibly stage a rebellion, and they are doing this systematically.

I expect SC asset will be seized next week, along with various other companies who have been funded out of previous administrations, and all money transfers in and out will be under more scrutiny.
