Buying tickets for Buriram United home game

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am hoping to catch the Buriram Utd home game on 15th June with the family

Does anyone have experience of buying tickets ? Is it possible to pay on the day ?

I have emailed the club but thought I would try here also

I will be in the area the day before the game so could always nip in to buy tickets if the game looks busy, but I would imagine the game will not be a sell-out

Any advice would be appreciated

cheers

Mr B

Usually only the big games are anywhere near a sellout. Those are the games against Muang Thong and Chonburi.

Going the day before is probably the best option.

Don't expect too much, by the way. It's not good football

No problem buying tickets at the day of the match.

Agree with Puchooay don't expect to much ( quality of the football) although last season Buriram was TPL champion, the level of play is poor, even i can see that and i'm not an football expert.

But it's a nice evening out, nice atmoshepre, and the stadium is very nice.

Best seats Yamaha stand A2 A3 A6 A7 lower rows.

Have fun.

During the week they give free escorted trips inside the stadium. Well worth a visit to see behind the scenes of a decent footie stadium. Make sure you have someone that can translate.

Did that myself a few weeks back and agree its worth it.

I`m going to disagree slightly with above regarding standard of football. Sure dont be expecting English Premiership or Spanish La Liga type standard, but the league now has a great smattering of overseas talent across it. Jay Simpson of Buriram was on Arsenals books for example. Its not as bad at is being suggested!

Great stadium and good atmosphere as well.

Yes indeed. Jay Simpson WAS on Arsenals books. He is now playing in Thailand. Bit of a tumble. I was at the Buriram v Muang Thong game a few weeks back. That is reigning champions versus top of the current league.

It was bad...very very bad.

You mention English premiership??????? There isn't a player in the Thai league that would make Conference league ( equivalent to league 5 in England for those that don't know).

Still worth a visit every now and then. A good laugh and the beer is usually cold too.

How is Carmelo doing this season? He played in La Liga for a couple of teams and was a Spanish under-21 international. His career in the bigger leagues was hampered by long-term injuries. Scored about a goal a game last season in Thailand from midfield - a lot more than Robbie Fowler managed I would imagine that - if he could stay fit - he might get a game in the Championship or L1.

Thanks for the replies - I got an email from the club and they are reserving 4 tickets for me. Not bothered about the level of football, I have watched English lower league football for 40 years. This is more for the evening out and a treat for the missus and her family - all wear their Buriram shirts with pride.

We have done the stadium tour before - lovely facilities and a good tour.

Cheers - and "come on you blues" lol

Dont particularly feel like arguing about football i care little for but you are simply wrong.

Simpson played for Millwall in league 1 prior to Buriram whilst Jay Bothroyd of Muangthong played in the championship for Sheffield Wednesday. Theres lots of others who have played at a higher level than you suggest.

I think you may be arguing with a Wimbledon fan so you may wish to check the quality of the input.

Jay Simpson is a donkey, never played in the league for Arsenal and became a journeyman who did not fulfill his early potential. Jay Boothroyd looked altogether a better acquisition but (based on the Buriram vs MTU game) is little more than a target man and a spoiler. Heat and humidity do not suit European players and many struggle with conditions.

IMO the standard is akin to watching League One football with one or two stars dotted about.

More importantly it is a good evening out with a wonderful atmosphere. There were 33,000 at the Buriram vs MTU game with another 5,000+ outside taking in the atmosphere or watching the pop concert.

My quote was in the present tense. You are talking about the past.

Yes indeed.

The last match involving Wimbledon that I managed to see the highlights of led me to believe that they would beat Buriram United. Wimbledon are in the lower depths of League 2.

I'm not having a go here, and I think it is a shame.

Many years ago I lived near to Bangkok. I used to go to all of the national sides games. Tiger Cup, Asian Cup, Kings Cup and the likes. The teams then (about 2000-2005) would walk all over the national team now.

As with many things here, football has gone backwards.

I would dearly love to see a team that played great football right here on my doorstep. Unfortunately the way the football teams are run here it will never happen.

I agree that Carmelo would make the Championship or L1. So too would Japanese lad Kai Hirano and perhaps Usman who moved to Japan. I am a fan of Theerathon who resembles Ashley Cole, I think he could slot in at a higher level.

The team is not playing well at the moment. Decent in defence but poor upfront atm. Don't get enough bodies into the box. Thought they were lucky to beat Chainat in the cup. I'm sure it doesn't help having Newin sitting there.
