Popular Post coma Posted June 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2014 Yet another outstanding call. $hit I can honestly say I am really enjoying this. Criminals, corrupt officials, politicians and top ender kick backs ALL getting what comes to them. Long, long overdue. Well done NCPO. 87
Popular Post TVGerry Posted June 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2014 The junta are doing things that should have been done long ago. Only difference is that they actually have the balls to do it. Every little thing counts. Bravo! 35
Popular Post aguy30 Posted June 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2014 Most members of any Board Of Directors are grossly over paid and get really big money while workers that actually perform get very little . Eliminate their high salaries and present bonuses. Pay them only if there are profits. 17

Popular Post aguy30 Posted June 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) My last experince on Thai was like being on a Thai tour bus and being served a box lunch. Now one of the worst for International travel. Paid very high prices and got discount airline quality. Thai needs a complete remake of how they present their brand. Thai used to be a quality carrier. Thanks for the memory Thai. Too bad it is only a memory and nothing like what they now offer. I wonder if 7-11 is now preparing the meals for Thai? Edited June 10, 2014 by aguy30 9

All your good work will be undone in days. The good news just keeps on rolling in, something we have not seen since the dark day that Thaksin ascended to power. Hooray for Gen Prayuth!! 26

If you compare Thai to 5 star airlines like Singapore or Cathay then of course it's nowhere near in terms of service. However, as airlines go, it's pretty good. I've always found the international service in both business and economy adequate and the food is surprisingly good in economy. Perhaps your 'last' experience was in a decade ago? Whatever the case, you're probably exaggerating. 10

Popular Post djjamie Posted June 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2014 On every Thai flight I have ever been on (Europe / Australia to or from Thailand) there have always been vacant seats. Unless the staff are taking up seats that would otherwise be filled by paying passengers I don't know that it will save money. The extra administrative costs and the fuel to transport a 70kg person and their 20kg of luggage is negligible so how will it save money? 3

You are aware that Thai Airways are broke, don't you?

1plumber Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 too bad that THAI Air is already insolvent, but yes a great measure
Popular Post djjamie Posted June 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2014 There are three Air Chief Marshals on the Board of Directors................. Thanks for highlighting that the Junta are not biased. Well done and Fab4's example here typifies the anti nepotistic and anti cronyism approach by the Junta. It does not matter who you are or who you support the Junta are doing this for the country as a whole. This is exactly what has been lacking for the past few years and thanks Fab4 for inadvertently highlighting it. 10

The extra administrative costs and the fuel to transport a 70kg person and their 20kg of luggage is negligible so how will it save money? yes, it's a token gesture. It would be better for them to address the free tickets for family, friends, acquaintances of Thai staff...ie, 20,000 as opposed to the tiny number of board members. What happened to the case of the Senator ( anti-govt ) who pressured Thai into a free ticket for her children to go to moscow on some junket? the same one who appointed her son as her secretary on an inflated public salary? 12

Popular Post WEBLEDINK Posted June 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) You know, I been living here several years and shook my head at some of things that I have seen done by the former government and some of the officials. Except for current curtailing of some personal freedoms and scaring the crap out of some protesters by arresting them, I am becoming quite impressed with some of the actions to bring "peace and happiness" back to Thailand. Hell, I am feeling a little better myself. This is a class act on how to remove the corrupt politicians without violence, control the population and actually take a step forward in the right direction. As long as the feeling of power and control don't get a hold of the current leaders and a democracy and another election is held, this should be a page for the History books. Curious to see as all the new panels created to investigate all the corruption and ways to fix them pans out. I like the way the world stage has now had read their statements, voiced their opinions and stepped back to watch this "Class Act" move forward. I am sure some world leaders jaws have dropped with amazement. Positive things like this just don't happen when the military take over the governing of a nation in this day and time! Popular Post Robby nz Posted June 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2014 There should be no freebees for anyone. All Govt agencies that send people overseas should have to buy tickets out of their budgets. Budgets which should be audited and scrutinized by the budget bureau and made public. The budget bureau should also be audited by an independent orginisation set up for the purpose. 7
