Just a point. I thought the rules of the game say that the ball must me inside the half circle before you take the corner kick. Yet in many games it is oftern taken with the ball clearly out side the area.

Take last nights England game The Sweeds hardly ever put the ball inside the right area. Also a few times the linesman was standing right there and nodding ball ok. Whats going on? Did any of you notice in the same game the goalkeeper of the Sweeds put the ball down at least a foot out side of his goal area to take his goal kick. No it was not a free kick but a goal kick and again nothing said.

:o:D:D

Goooooooooooo England :D

i think the strange thing was how Sweden managed to put nearly all their deliveries from corners in dangerous areas whereas England would just hit the first defender.

Maybe that is my point with the ball clearly outside the area they can get a better angel and maybe deliver more power hence the rules to stay inside the area. It has to be there for a reason.

Maybe we will get more expert advise for others :o

The referee did on at least one occasion tell the Swedish player to place the ball correctly within the quarter circle (not half circle).

I dont honestly think that it makes much difference to how well the corner is taken. It may just be that the segment was a little cut up from previous corners. The linesman should be picking it up and insisting the ball is inside, but as long as it is not a silly distance out then they let it go. A bit like the way players always take throw ins a few yards forward, instead of from where it went out. As long as it is not too much then they dont bother.

Makes sence. So all in all much better corner kickers than England Oh and it is now on the record better throw takers too :o 2- 1 then the throw in 2 - 2 :D
