I've just landed in Thailand and will be living and working here indefinitely. I want to find a good school where I can study Thai.

The closest to my home (and the only one I looked at so far) is Inlingua. Has anyone studied there who can give me some feedback about their teaching methods and how effective they are?

Is there another recommendation for another school?

Also, I have been told that learning to read is a very important step of fully learning Thai. How about writing? Do I necessarily have to learn how to write as I don't see myself having a need for this skill.

Advice is appreciated.
