Is a child with dual nationality ( Thai/ British)classed as a dependent child? The child will be born next month and will remain in Thailand for a couple of months whilst the visa/passports are sorted out.

Is it ok to put on the Appendix 2 form (Q.3.2) that the applicant is applying with no child dependents under 18?

It's just that it states on the form that if you are applying with a dependent child the income threshold goes up to £22,400.

As your child, as a British Citizen, will hold a British Passport the financial requirement doesn't have to be met in respect of the child, IE it will remain at £18,600.

2.8. The financial requirement does not apply to a child who:

Is a British citizen (including an adopted child who acquires British citizenship);

The Appendix form you refer to also states:

Children who are British Citizens or not subject to UK Immigration Control do not need to be considered when calculating the financial requirement.

In the application I would refer to the child and include details of the British Passport, but not include the child in the Appendix.
