June 22, 200619 yr I know this is a long complex process, but in my current situation I am just trying to guage the probability of success. I have lived with my Thai girlfriend for 4 years in Thailand. I am in the US now. She works as a concierge at a 5 star hotel. She would like to come here, get married and eventually work. I have a job but next to no savings. What is the probability of success? Does my Thai fiance have a right to come here, marry me, live and work as long as it is a genuine relationship? Or do the powers that be regularly keep American husbands and Thai wives apart?

June 24, 200619 yr There should not be any problem. It will take the normal period of a few months and a bit of paper work but if you have employment (there is a welfare type minimum you have to meet) do not believe she will have any trouble. This is for marriage; so employment is not something to be considered at this time. The more paperwork on your relationship the better.
