A Thai national has died after the car he was driving rolled on Cascades Road in Lake King, 300 kilometres north-west of Esperance, on Tuesday night.

The 55-year-old driver and his four Thai passengers, all men aged 45, 39, 38 and 35, were travelling in a Toyota utility on the gravel road between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, when the vehicle drifted onto the soft shoulder of the road

The ute then rolled, police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.

I wonder how much influence the extensive Thai driver licence training had on the ability of this unfortunate man to handle a car on an Australian rural gravel road.
