Thailand urgently promotes exports in many regions

BANGKOK, 13 July 2014 (NNT) - The Department of International Trade Promotion is developing plans to penetrate markets in ASEAN, China, South America, Africa, the Middle East and independent states. Urgent projects have been launched for promising ASEAN member countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar.

Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion Nanthawan Sakuntanak said the department had invited experts from the government and private sectors to help develop the plans in line with economic policies of the National Council for Peace and Order. The department was now pushing for the four urgent projects for the ASEAN market which focused on the promotion of Thai instant food in Indonesia, Thai textiles in Vietnam, border trade in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Thai businesses in Myanmar.

As for China, the official said the department would send trade representatives to major cities in China to expand opportunities for Thai exports and do business matching.

The department has already sent trade representatives to Brazil, Peru and Chile. 24 companies, most of them in automotive, construction materials, food, and plastic industries, agreed to buy Thai products worth over 494,000 USD. The department expected that their combined orders for Thai exports would be more than 71 million USD in one year.

The Thais are thrashing and matching. "Matching" is commonly used in Thai business. They have "matching" events and expositions using the name matching as part of the event. Matching in Thailand is a euphemism for who will take a payoff for some business?

The many different trade problems Thailand have with possible trade sanctions coming from several areas such as, Another military Coup, Human trafficking, forced labor, child labor, illegal Ivory trade, I think good luck if they can trade but It's not looking to good internationally for Thailand as each time they turn around a new controversy is in the headlines

Now that I have lived here for 6 years, if I were to go back to N America, I think that I would never buy Thai exported food or building construction material. Maybe a T-shirt ....
