SEC invites public comments on rewards

BANGKOK: -- The Securities and Exchange Commission invites members of the public to comment on the draft regulations regarding payment of rewards and gratuity to informers on insider trading and market manipulation.

The draft will be issued under Section 315/1 of the Securities and Exchange Act B.E. 2535 (1992) to enhance efficiency of enforcement.

The proposed regulations provide instructions for giving information and the application of reward or gratuity, consideration of persons filing applications for rewards, procedures for the payment of reward and gratuity, proportion of reward and gratuity and criteria for obtaining reward and gratuity.

SEC commissioners, board members, top management and staff members of the Stock Exchange of Thailand and its overthecounter centre are not entitled to rewards and gratuity.

The consultation paper is available at www.SEC.or.th. Stakeholders and those interested are welcome to submit comments through the website, by fax to (02) 263 6404 or by email to nat [at] sec.or.th through July 18.

How about a reward scheme for the informants of ALL corruption where money is recovered to the state. Including (and especially) the police and politicians, civil servants etc etc etc.....

How about a reward scheme for the informants of ALL corruption where money is recovered to the state. Including (and especially) the police and politicians, civil servants etc etc etc.....

That would only lead to more corruption!

It's a paper tiger -- defamation suits will ensure no one is arrested with connections. The funniest part, to me, is that "SEC commissioners, board members, top management and staff members of the Stock Exchange of Thailand and its over the counter centre are not entitled to rewards and gratuity"

This means the people who are best situated to be able to prove allegations have been taken, conveniently, out of the loop...

Amazing Thailand.
