Thailand's Budget Plan For Next 3 Years Is Being Considered

MoF: budget plan for next 3 years is being considered

Finance Minister Thanong Bidaya indicated that the budget plan for the next three years is being examined, while believing that Thailand will be able to have a balance budget next year.

Mr. Thanong said other ministries, government agencies and enterprises are now developing their budget plans, and they will then submit them to the Ministry of Finance. At the moment, the Finance Ministry only acknowledges the national earnings, but it does not know each unit’s expenses.

In addition, he said the Finance Ministry has to consider economic growth of each sector before developing a balance budget due to the impacts from the current oil price hike, the rising interest rates, and the political situation at the moment.
