Their number one and two is good fertilizer for the grass and shrubs .Do i clean up at home ? Yes ,i power spray my yard daily, now having a dog again if only a pup.

There are also a lot of stray dogs at W.T.T. Who cleans up after them ?

You sound like a very irresponsible dog owner. Really, some people just don't have the right skills. Just because other dogs are shitting everywhere, doesn't excuse you of your responsibility.

I wonder who took the sign down? Let me guess is it a Rottweiler or Pit Bull?

Any fool can remove a sign, There was one on a beach near where my wife has family. It read in Thai "Beware quicksand.". 3 Teens died because of that. 1 of them my wife's nephew who was trying to save his cousin.

So that entitles them to crap all over the place so long as it's not on your doorstep.

What a selfish and small minded attitude you have there.xangry.png.pagespeed.ic.Cla6z9sEn6.pngxangry.png.pagespeed.ic.Cla6z9sEn6.pngxangry.png.pagespeed.ic.Cla6z9sEn6.png

Anto the wild dogs can worry about themselves. Worry about your dogs. Pissing and shitting everywhere and you think it's funny.

You would get on well with my knob end Swedish neighbours who think it's perfectly ok for their dogs to shit all over my drive way. I now collect the turds in a bag and lob it onto their front porch. Disgusting.

The gate is irrespective. It is irresponsible to allow dogs to roam around and <deleted> wherever they want. I like dogs, have been an owner before , but wouldn't be so inconsiderate.

Cuddlycat...If you are still out there looking, check out the Chiang Mai University agricultural land just off Canal Road south of town. You can also get there via Soi Wat Umong and Wat Pong Noi. There are many square miles of country there with ponds and open range to walk your dog or to watch birds. It gets very little use so enjoy it. This area is very near the white temple of Doi Kham that you can see from the airport.

Should we try to impress our western values on a culture where this issue is non-existent?

In my large western style moo baan there are 3 of us of more than 30 dog walkers who have a pooper scooper and we just shovel it to the side so it's not on the roads lawn or walkways/sidewalks. The others just leave it for the Burmese workers to deal with..similar to my McDonald observations here...

Then I started thinking about what I see in the thai villages all around in Mae Jo Mae rim sansai doi saket..in my tens of bike rides thru these villages I have yet to see a person walking their dog on a leash let alone cleaning up after them...I think most thais would laugh at pooper scooper rules...their perspective on dog ownership and accountability isn't on the same page...

Dog parks in certain progressive US cities are wildly popular and thought it would be a great idea in chiang mai with HTT being a candidate..

Then I re-thought my idea and came to the conclusion that CM province could be labelled one big dog park (w/o rules) minus the national parks and would be interested to know how strict dog regulations really are in those areas...

A mai bpen rai attitude applies to dogs positively and negatively in this culture...

A gate is irrespective ? I would suggest you keep your gate closed (its something you have controle over ) ,rather than trying to control your Soi or neighbours dogs .

And I suggest that you take responsibility of your dogs.

Why should anyone have to run their lives to suit you selfish ways?

Anto you still haven't said what type of dog you have? If it's a Rotty dropping kilo blocks there is a problem.

At the moment i have a 2 month old 4 and a half kg ,Labradore pup.My experience of W.T.T was to do about a year ago when i had two adult Labs .The parents of the pup i have now .

The adults are now on a Farm with a fishing lake about 25 km outside C.M.City.The adult male was a bad boy ,in that he would take a dislike to certain people .When he bit a monk on his rounds (he had excaped from my locked yard ) ,i had no option but to get rid of him.I wanted the female to stay with him as they grew up togeather and the farm took them on .They seem happy where they are now .

Anto your dog biting a monk has probably brought a curse on you and your family. Sometimes do things go very wrong?

The dog only brought a curse on himself .I left out the bit about him now being chained up most of the day on the farm ,as they can not trust him .The female is free to run around the farm all day and night .

The agressive male i bought off a Thai policeman as a pup .They were going to train him as a sniffer dog for drugs ,but their plans changed.
